President Joe Biden has officially dropped out of the November presidential election today, July 21, 2024 and has endorsed Kamala Harris. This is unprecedented since the advent of the modern presidential primary system in 1972. Details to follow on what the process will be to choose/elect a new Democrat party nominee. Stay tuned for updates.
Former President Donald Trump has left the hospital according to sources and is said to be on his way to continue his campaigning. One person was killed by the shooter and no others wounded. The shooter had also been shot and killed by government security. The shooter’s name has not been released at this time.
Former President Donald Trump was confirmed hit by bullets fired at a rally this afternoon in Pennsylvania. All reports are the injury is not life threatening. More details to come.

The Al Harris Library at Southwestern Oklahoma State University will be displaying a Museum on Main Street exhibit, which is a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institute and State Humanities Councils across the nation. The exhibit is called “Voices and Votes: Democracy in America,” which has a focus on rural communities.
The display currently is shown in Oklahoma, Florida and North Carolina. There are nearly 20 states that have shown this exhibit, with only six feature sites selected from each state. However, SWOSU is the first university to be selected for hosting this display.

Did you know the Old Science Building is the oldest building on SWOSU's campus in Weatherford, Oklahoma?
Built in 1909, the building has stood for more than 110 years. The building used to house a theater as well. It also is listed on the Oklahoma's National Register for Historic Places.
