Mr. Spann is back to talk to y'all about some of the happenings going on in the world. Like, did Chris Brown really rough up Usher at a birthday party this weekend? (Ep. 6) #MSO "Did Chris Rock Get His Lick Back?"
Comedic legend Chris Rock has finally publicly addressed the slap he suffered at the hand of Oscar Award winning Actor and Rapper Will Smith with his latest Netflix comedy special Selective Outrage. Many people, who have been waiting nearly a year to hear Chris Rock's side, and perspective as to why he believes he was attacked in such a public way finally got what they wanted. Did this special put the issue to bed, or did it leave a lot to be desired? And also, have we as an audience changed the way we consume the art of Comedy. This what we will be discussing tonight on episode 6 of Mr. Spann Official!
(Ep. 5) #MSO "Who Defines Black Masculinity?"
Social media has been abuzz lately with quite a few folks feeling a little uncomfortable with some men in the black community either showing each other love in ways they're not used to, or trying to police what and how a man is to truly conduct themselves. Tonight on Mr. Spann Official, we're going to discuss whether or not these discussions are truly in the best interest of the black community, or do they add to the toxic discourse of what it means to be a Black man in America.
(Ep. 4) #MSO "Kyrie: The Common Denominator"
Basketball superstar point guard Kyrie Irving elicits strong feelings in many people. Some of it is about his game, but a lot of it comes from how people feel about his actions away from the basketball court. From his stances on the COVID-19 Vaccine mandates, to his posting links on his social media accounts promoting a movie many feel trafficked in anti-semitic tropes, his ideas around these issues have cost him to miss a number of games. This week, we witnessed both Stephen A. Smith and Jay Williams get in a heated exchange as to whether or not the criticism Irving receives is fair or not. What we'll be discussing on this episode of Mr. Spann Official, is whether or not Kyrie Irving is a misunderstood athlete fighting for a greater good, or, is he a spoiled athlete who's guaranteed contract allows for him to pull the stunts he does? Could it be both? We'll hash that out tonight on Mr. Spann Official!

(Ep. 363) The Spann Report "Mo'Nique Vs. DL Hughley? Comedy Explosion?"
Back on the Mic on this beautiful Memorial Day, and off top we got some catching up to do. First we’ll be going over some Listener Feedback to open the show before we do things a bit differently, and start the show in Blue Blazes! Comedians Mo’Nique, and DL Hughley are currently locked in a war of words over social media after a show in Detroit where there seemed to have been a dispute over who was the official headliner of the event. Mo’Nique started her set airing out her grievances to a stunned crowd at the Fox Theater. Many are stating that they don’t particularly care for the way in which Mo’Nique handled the situation, but did she have a point? Spann was in attendance at the show, and he’s got some thoughts, so we’ll discuss em. Other stories we have in Blue Blazes have to deal with a Kardashian sister being told by her doctor to drink her partners sperm to help with her fertility? There was the Grand Opening and Grand Closing of the Juneteenth ice cream being sold by Wal-Mart. Yet another criminal found himself in police custody because he couldn’t help himself from posting his crimes on Instagram. Darius Cooks customers get a warning from the Better Business Bureau, and Will Smith WILL star in the upcoming Bad Boys 4 movie.
In The News, where not one, but two mass shootings have happened in America since the last time we got together here at The Spann Report. One in Uvalde Texas, and another in Buffalo New York, sparking new debates on gun ownership, possible gun bans and new gun laws. But judging by current polarized state of American politics, can we really count on THIS government to do anything meaningful on the issue? We’ll also examine the responses to these shootings by law enforcement, as new details have emerged that could reveal that some of the decisions made by the law on the scene could have possibly led to more deaths in Uvalde, and a 911 operator allegedly hung up on a caller in the Buffalo incident. Former Black Lives Matte

(Ep. 354) The Spann Report "Whoa Nelly!"
Spann is back on the mic with the second show of 2022, and we get things started with some Listener Feedback, and a few Random Thoughts before we hop In The News. First up, more states are dropping their mask mandates as Covid cases fall throughout the country. Could this be the set up for yet another surge later this year? Canadian anti-vax protestors have been moved out after blocking entry to the Ambassador Bridge after nearly a week of demonstrating. But how many people are they really speaking up for? About 19% of Spotify users say they will drop their subscriptions if Spotify doesn’t remove podcast host Joe Rogan from their service. But is there an argument to be made that Spotify keeping him there actually lessens his ability to reach more people? And Spirit Airlines has decided to merge with Frontier airlines to create a mega budget airline. Will this merger better serve their customers, or will it just give flyers less choice in the budget airline space?
We move on to Blue Blazes where Drake unfollowed both Rihanna and her rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky after the announcement that they would be expecting their first child together. Rapper Nelly, took to social media to apologize, after video of him receiving oral sex from an unidentified woman hit the internet sparking discussions of body shaming, sexual expectations, and the propensity for celebrity sex tapes to “leak.” Texas A&M University Women’s Basketball Coach, Sydney Carter was the talk of social media for a pair of pink pants she wore during a game recently with questions about whether or not what she was wearing was appropriate for the occasion. What do you guys think? And a TikTok user took to the platform to tell about the time an Android phone user attempted to catfish her, we’ll tell you the AMAZING way she found out that the Catfish, wasn’t who they said they were. Oh, the humanity.
Then it’s time for Fu*k Around & Find Out as two Long Island New York nurses were arrested after th
(Ep. 353) The Spann Report "The Silence Of Our Friends"
The Spann Report is back for the New Year, and we bring it in with two of our favorite people. We've got the homie Cook of HIGHly Inappropriate Hosted By Cook Simmons with us, AND our girl Stephanie from The Mocha Minutes Podcast comes through as we catch up with what's been going on with each other, as well as getting into some of the shenanigans that has been happening around the world the last few weeks. But we get things kicked off with some Listener feedback, before we hop In The News, where President Joe Biden was met with resistance in Georgia over a speech he planned to give on voting rights in Atlanta. Activist are stating they want a concrete plan, and not another speech, do they have a point, or are they being unreasonable? And what the hell is up with "Democratic" Kyrsten Sinema, and Joe Manchin? The Biden Administration was dealt another blow this past week in their fight to get Americans vaccinated, as the Supreme Court struck down the Biden Mandate that would have forced companies with more than 100 employees to have their workers vaccinated.
We move on to Blue Blazes where rapper and producer Dr. Dre and his now former wife have had their divorce finalized and a settlement agreed to. And broke dudes across the country are in mourning. Comedian Steve Harvey says he probably won't return to being a stand up comedian because of "cancel culture." A DoorDash driver took to TikTok to tell the world they ate the food of a customer because they only tipped $4. Trey Songz is in the news for all the wrong reasons recently as well. Does this dude have more rape allegations than top 10 hits? We'll discuss the latest buzz around the singer tonight.
We move on to F*ck Around And Find Out where now anti-vaxxers are promoting drinking your own urine as a way to treat COVID-19. And mega podcaster Joe Rogan has used his show to promote dangerous erroneous information about COVID-19 and the vaccines used to prevent and treat infections. Let's watch his reaction to
(Ep. 350) The Spann Report "Calm Your Tits Side Hustlers!"
Delayed but never denied, episode 350 of The Spann Report is here on this Halloween 2021, and we start the show not with Spann’s Random Thoughts this week, but with feedback from listeners like you. And there was a lot of it, so we gotta see what the people gotta say. Then we get to the business at hand by rolling on In The News where, the FDA has given emergency authorization for the Phizer COVID-19 vaccine to be administered to kids aged 5-11. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has decided that the social media company needed a name change. He says it’s because the company is bigger than their social media site, but couldn’t it really be about separating his company name from all of the recent controversies surrounding its influence in society? Howard University is going through it at the moment, as students at the prestigious HBCU protest horrible housing conditions. How could a school who’s received so much in positive publicity, and donations over the last couple years be dealing with issues like this? Side hustlers rejoice! As the provision in proposed legislation as part of the Build Back Better plan that would have the IRS reporting deposits to your bank account in sums as small as $600 will probably not be a part of the new law. And former Army General and Chairman of The Joint Chiefs, as well as being the first Black Secretary of State, Colin Powell has died as a result from complications due to Covid-19.
It’s on to Blue Blazes we go, where “cancelled” comedian Dave Chappelle along with podcaster Joe Rogan performed in front of 17K people at a sold out venue to talk about his being cancelled. Caitlyn Jenner expresses her support for Dave Chappelle and says that Chappelle’s special The Closer is all about Cancel Culture run amok. (Ep. 349) The Spann Report "The Voiceless Are Actually Quite Loud"
And we’re back for another week of podcasting! And on today’s show, we get things kicked off with Spann responding to some Listener Feedback. And we get a few of Spann’s Random Thoughts before we hop In The News where the Chicago Police Union is threatening a walk out in protest to the city’s vaccine mandate. Which leads us to our next story as we find out that COVID-19 is the number 1 killer of police officers in America. The Department of Justice will petition the Supreme Court to block the new Texas abortion law. And Superman and Lois Lane’s son has come out as bisexual in a new take on the comic book.
We then move on to Blue Blazes, where the Dave Chappelle saga over at Netflix continues, as the CEO of the movie streaming giant has stated they will not be removing his latest special, The Closer from the platform despite the backlash it’s gotten internally and from outside LGBTQ groups. Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving took to Instagram to address the commentary surrounding his decision to not get vaccinated ahead of the NBA season, and his intent to represent a higher cause, but did he really say anything meaningful at all? And Jon Gruden, the now former Head Coach of the Las Vegas Raiders resigned this past week after racist, homophobic, and misogynistic emails were unearthed during an investigation of the Washington Football Team. But is this just another case of Cancel Culture run amok?
Then Proud To Be American makes it’s return this week, and our first story involves, the man behind the Trump friendly conspiracy theory, Ron Watkins says he’s running for congress in the state of Arizona. An Oklahoma woman has been convicted of 1st Degree Manslaughter after she had a miscarriage. And in Southlake Texas, one school official is has brought even more attention to the new Texas education law, hastily implemented to combat the non existence of Critical Race Theory in schools. Millions of workers are now facing a more concrete choice as President Biden has ordered OSHA to update their standards regarding vaccinations for companies that have over 100 employees. Studies are showing that the chances of you contracting COVID-19 are 1 in 5000 or less if you are fully vaccinated. And most nurses and health care workers are indeed vaccinated, so why then do people believe that most of them aren’t?
Then we go on over to Blue Blazes, where former reality show star Joseline Hernandez attacked comedian Luenell on social media after the comic made comments about abstaining from drug use. Current candidate for Governor of the state of California, Larry Elder, took to the airways on the Candace Owens show to announce that he believes that slave owners should be paid reparations for having their property taken away from them with the abolishment of slavery. And we get a chance to meet the TikTok personality who predicted the pregnancy of Kylie Jenner. How did she know? And we go back with an oldie but goodie, it’s the return of The Special Hotep Unit, where Captain of the squad, Umar Johnson has been married, TWICE!
And off to Proud To Be American we go, where we find out what the minimum wage really should be today if it had kept up not only with the rate of inflation, but with American’s level of productivity. An unruly airline passenger from Las Vegas was removed from a flight after growling at flight attendants like a dog. And the European Union has put the United States on the No Fly List, well, for the unvaccinated.

(Ep. 344) The Spann Report "Hate Watching Is Still Watching"
Spann is back on the mic after some more out of town adventures, and taking advantage of this extra long holiday weekend, and we catch up with what he’s been up to before we get into a few of Spann’s Random Thoughts. And of course right after that we roll right on over In The News, where popular TV host and podcaster Joe Rogan has announced that he’s caught COVID-19, and that he’s treating it with the horse dewormer, Ivermectin. A Michigan State Representative, Jewell Jones, a Democrat out of Inkster is offering his constituents COVID Vaccination exemption letters, because he says he believes in their right to choose. Four conservative radio host from across the country have gone on the air to spout off about how much they don’t believe in the mitigation efforts surrounding the pandemic. All four of them are dead. And a study conducted on Facebook interactions have shown that misinformation on the platform gets way more engagement than actual news from credible sources. We’ll dive into way that could be.
Then it’s on to Blue Blazes, where Lil Nas X made a splash with his announcement of the date of the release of his new album, with photos of him appearing to be pregnant, and right on cue, Lil Boosie and others took to social media to denounce the display. But the real discussion we’ll be having surrounds why people allow this to bother them. R. Kelly is still on trial in New York for racketeering and sex trafficking, and one of the witnesses was a young man who claims that Kelly sexually abused him as well when he was 17 years old. There’s a young entrepreneur on Facebook selling neckties. But these aren’t your father’s neckties, these are neckties made of rope. You have to see them to believe it. In another story you might not really believe, a group of high school students took a trip to Afghanistan this summer, and found themselves stuck in the war torn country after the United States military pulled out. Did they make it back home? And Do
