Another car saved! Everybody should read this story.

Okay, this Mustang had two really bad ceramic coating jobs done to it. The first one was done by the car owner. Understandably it went wrong. No prep work was done, no paint correction was done and It had dried ceramic spots all over it. Totally understandable. After realizing they messed up, they hired a detailer who claimed they could fix it for $700 and reapply a new coating.

Well, the detailer tried buffing it with who knows what and created even more scratches all over it. Not to mention all the dried ceramic coating spots where still all over the car. The detailer stillll applied another ceramic coating on top of all that mess and told the customer that if they couldnt fix it, nobody could. The detailer still charged the car owner $700 even though they did not fix the problem and made it even worse. Yeah, the detailer actually made it worse. So thats what $700 gets you guys…

Well, the car owner met us at a car show that we did recently and explained all of this to us and showed us his car. After I saw his car, I was confident that I could fix all the problems but I assured him that if I couldnt fix it that I would not charge him a penny.

He scheduled an appointment, we did a test spot to make 100% sure and the results were perfect. So we fixed the problem and the car turned out prestine. Total cost for our work came to $2043 on top of the $700 the car owner already paid the other detailer plus what he spent on a DIY coating.

It pays to do your research before hiring detailers to do this type of work. Remember the detailer told the car owner after they were done, that if they cant fix it, no body could and they still charged him $700. That is completely unacceptable in any case.

Clearly the detailer was unexpereiensed in detailing and in business and took advantage of this super nice guy. And wouldnt you believe the car owner tried to communicate to the detailer and actually got blocked… They are an embarrasment to the detailinng industry…

NitPickin is always here and we are always evolving and learning. Its not ever about money. Should we get paid for our expertise? Yes of course. We have earned the right to charge for our professional services. But we handle things like professionals and to top that off we would never charge for something we cant fix.

The other detailer, “if we can’t fix it nobody can. Alright that will be $700 cash please.”
