A little "Gilbert" history from the HD SOUTH - Home of the Gilbert Historical Museum.

In the 1930's the Creed Grocery Store opened in . The owners R.R. and Etta Creed came to Gilbert in 1912 with their 2 children. The earth that was excavated from the basement was used to create adobe blocks that were used to build the store.
Currently the building is the Farmhouse Restaurant and has served breakfast and lunch in the since 2001. Sadly, the Farmhouse will be closing on July 1st.
Stop in the The Farmhouse Restaurant one last time this week to share some sweet and savory food and memories before this treasure closes.

Memorial Day is a great day to enjoy time with friends and family, but the holiday has a deeper meaning. Let’s remember those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Mark your calendars, May 12th, and help the community raise money for a special someone in their time of need. Ashley, a q***r beloved community member in Tucson, was diagnosed in late March with life-threatening breast cancer and has been fighting against it through her new chemo treatments. However, the financial and emotional toll on her and her family and friends has been incredibly burdensome, but we are determined to make sure she is able to live life the way she wants to. While the struggles have been large, we are also deeply affected by the amount of support felt by the local community.
