NHRA AND FOX SPORTS RELEASE TV SCHEDULE FOR
UPCOMING 2025 NHRA MISSION FOODS DRAG RACING SERIES SEASON

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 13, 2024) – NHRA officials and FOX Sports announced today the television schedule for the upcoming 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, which includes eight broadcasts on the FOX broadcast network.

All 20 races, along with the NHRA All-Star Callout events in Top Fuel and Funny Car, and the GETTRX NHRA All-Star Callout race in Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle, will be broadcast on either FOX or FS1 during the 2025 campaign. The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season opens March 6-9 with the 56th annual NHRA Gatornationals at legendary Gainesville Raceway. The race includes the NHRA Top Fuel All-Star Callout, which will be broadcast at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 8 on FS1 and eliminations from the season-opener airing from 7-10 p.m. the following day.

For the fifth consecutive season, a September event in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs will also air on FOX adjacent to an NFL broadcast, providing NHRA to a huge audience during its playoffs. That opportunity has repeatedly led to impressive viewership numbers, including an average of more than 1.2 million viewers on FOX last year during the broadcast from Maple Grove Raceway.

That marks the final race of the season appearing on the FOX broadcast network, following a summer filled with incredible racing action on the broadcast network. Races scheduled to appear on FOX include the NHRA New England Nationals from New England Dragway in Epping, N.H. (June 1), the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals from Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk (June 29), the Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals from Pacific Raceways (July 20), a special showing of the Mission Challenge from Sonoma Raceway (July 26), and the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals from Brainerd International Raceway (Aug. 17), leading into the world’s biggest drag race.

The prestigious 71st annual Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals, which takes place Aug. 27-Sept. 1 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, will air on both FOX and FS1, including eliminations on FOX on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1 from the Big Go. The Funny Car All-Star Callout will also air on FOX on Sunday, Aug. 31, ensuring two days of coverage on FOX for NHRA’s biggest event. Eliminations will receive five hours of coverage on Monday, starting with two hours (12-2 p.m. ET) on FS1 before moving to FOX.

Along with the nitro Callouts, both the GETTRX NHRA Pro Stock All-Star Callout and the GETTRX NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout will receive special Saturday broadcasts. The Pro Stock version, which takes place Saturday, June 28 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, will air at 3 p.m. ET that day on FS1, while the PSM Callout from Sonoma Raceway will air at 9:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 26 on FS1.

The NHRA and FOX relationship began in 2016, and NHRA and FOX Sports announced a multiyear extension of their agreement in 2021, including expanded coverage, the NFL adjacent event during the Countdown to the Championship, and extensive finals coverage at the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals over Labor Day Weekend each year. The partnership has also led to numerous innovations on the broadcast in recent years, with the NHRA on FOX team collecting numerous Telly awards in 2024.
FOX Sports and NHRA are also scheduling NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series broadcasts, as well as shows featuring the NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series across the FOX Sports networks.
NHRA races will also appear in Canada and the Caribbean through FOX Sports Racing as well, as well as through the FOX Sports app.

2025 NHRA PRO STOCK AND PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE SCHEDULES RELEASED

Pro Stock to compete at 18 races with GETTRX All-Star Callout moving to Norwalk; PSM to race at 15 events, GETTRX All-Star Callout again in Sonoma

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 11, 2024) – NHRA announced today the 2025 schedule for the Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle categories in the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, including the dates for the GETTRX NHRA All-Star Callout in both categories.

The talent-heavy Pro Stock category will compete at 18 races during the 2025 campaign, racing at every event on the NHRA national tour except for Chicago and Richmond. The 74th season of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series opens with the 55th annual NHRA Gatornationals on March 6-9 at legendary Gainesville Raceway, the first of 20 races next year.

Top Fuel and Funny Car will compete at all 20 events, while Pro Stock will race at 18 events and Pro Stock Motorcycle will be contested at 15 races. After taking place in Chicago the previous two seasons, the GETTRX Pro Stock All-Star Callout will also get a new destination in 2025, as the fan-favorite one-day specialty race will take place as part of the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals on Saturday, June 28 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

Greg Anderson is the defending winner of the Callout, while Anderson also enters the 2025 season as the reigning world champion, clinching his sixth world championship in a winner-take-all final round against KB Titan Racing teammate Dallas Glenn at the finale in Pomona.

Pro Stock Motorcycle will compete at 15 events during the 2025 campaign, beginning with the category’s traditional opener in Gainesville. Pro Stock Motorcycle will also race at the four-wide race in Charlotte and return to Chicago for the third straight year. Following a busy June that includes races in Bristol, Richmond and Norwalk, the class will again compete in Seattle, where the class raced for the first time in 2023, and Sonoma. The GETTRX Pro Stock Motorcycle Callout will also take place at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals on Saturday, July 27, as Matt Smith will look to repeat his specialty race win.

After a one-race break, Pro Stock Motorcycle will then return at Indy, finishing the season at the final seven events. Gaige Herrera won the championship in the two-wheeled category for a second straight year, picking up 10 event wins along the way.

All four professional categories will also race in all six events in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs. Callout races will take place in Top Fuel and Funny Car as well, with the Top Fuel All-Star Callout taking place in Gainesville and the Funny Car All-Star Callout thrilling fans at the prestigious Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indy.

The popular Mission Foods NHRA Challenge, which brings competitive racing, a bonus purse and bonus championship points to Saturday qualifying, will return in 2025 as well, taking place at 13 regular-season events, including four-wide races at Las Vegas and Charlotte.

PROCK CLINCHES ANOTHER TITLE FOR JFR

Championship is Team’s 23rd Overall and 21st in 35 Seasons in Funny Car

POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 15, 2024)
Austin Prock made official Saturday what had seemed destined since first he climbed into the cockpit of the AAA/Cornwell Tools Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car last February in relief of John Force Racing president Robert Hight, the three-time Funny Car World Champion.

The 29-year-old Funny Car rookie clinched the Mission Foods Funny Car Championship for JFR, Chevrolet, Cornwell Quality Tools, PEAK, Monster Energy, HendrickCars.com and the team’s other partners simply by qualifying the blue-and-white Camaro for Sunday’s 59th In-N-Out Burger Finals at In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip.

A fourth-generation racer, grandson of former Funny Car driver Tom Prock, he will race Sunday at In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip with a chance to win for the ninth time this season. If successful, the former quarter midget, sprint car and Top Fuel dragster driver would become the first Funny Car driver to win that many titles in a season since Force himself won 11 times in 2000.

“Everyone at John Force Racing, we’re surrounded by such great people, such great sponsors," Prock said. "I told the boys last night, we had it done last night, and we had a toast and I said ‘Thanks for welcoming me in.’ They didn’t have to be nice to me, they didn’t have to believe in me, and they did all year long. It gives you so much confidence to go after something like this. This is 19 years in the making. I started racing when I was 10 years old and all I wanted to do was be a professional race car driver. I didn’t care what it was, and win a World Championship at it. We finally got it done. I’m so proud to drive this Chevrolet with AAA Auto Club, Cornwell Tools, everyone that’s a part of this. Thank you Robert Hight. Thank you John Force. Thank you FAM (Force American Made). Everybody back at the shop, for just doing great work, and giving us an opportunity to go out there and run low E.T.’s, and turn on win lights. I’ve been having a blast this year. I’m sad tomorrow is the last race day of the year, but I hope we can go four more rounds and have something really big to celebrate at the end of the night.”

Prock’s championship is the 23rd overall for JFR , whose drivers have won 21 of the last 35 Funny titles.

“I’m really proud of the kid [2024 Funny Car Champion, Austin Prock],” team owner and Hall of Famer John Force said. “He told me he could do it, he told me he could win and he did. And his dad Jimmy and Jimmy’s son Thomas. All of them, it’s special. They were great all year and they supported our sponsors like PEAK and Cornwell the way they should. Jack and Brittany are doing what they need to do too, things are great. Just proud.”

This is the first Championship for Chevrolet since Hight Drove the Auto Club Camaro to the title in 2017 and 2019. It’s the fourth overall title for Auto Club, which also won with Hight in 2009.

Prock becomes the fourth different JFR Funny Car driver to win the championship and his dad, Jimmy, becomes the first to win Funny Car titles with three different drivers. After sharing a championship with Hight in 2009, he won with Force in 2013 and with Hight again in 2017 and 2019. In between, he went to Don Schumacher Racing where he finished second in 2015 with Jack Beckman as his driver.

"John's 21st funny car in about the last 35 years, and my third with a JFR driver," said Jimmy Prock, championship crew chief. "I'm just, you know, I've been here a long time, and I'm fortunate to be here and John gave Austin a chance, and I got my family here, and it's a great thing, and everybody's done a great job, and we have a great organization of people here. I'm glad to be here. Thanks, John."

JFR CLINCHES ITS 21ST NHRA FUNNY CAR CHAMPIONSHIP
Racing Suspended in NHRA Nevada Nationals; Will Resume Today

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Nov. 4, 2024) – With a recovering John Force watching from the sidelines, Austin Prock and Jack Beckman delivered the ultimate “get well” message Sunday, driving their respective Chevrolet Camaros into the semifinals of the 24th NHRA Nevada Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and assuring JFR of its 21st NHRA Funny Car Championship.

A lengthy cleanup operation following an incident involving the Top Fuel dragster of reigning World Champion Doug Kalitta, coupled with cooler air and track temperatures, compelled NHRA officials to suspend racing and postpone completion of the event until Monday. Competition will resume with Prock opposing Blake Alexander in one Funny Car semifinal and Beckman facing Paul Lee in the other.

After qualifying No. 1 for the second straight tour event, two-time Top Fuel World Champion Brittany Force authored her own “welcome back” message to her dad by driving her Chevrolet Accessories dragster into the final round for the first time this season with a chance to win a Mission Foods tour event for the first time in two calendar years. She will oppose Kalitta.

"This Chevrolet Accessories team has been running strong all weekend long," said the 2x Top Fuel Champion, "And we are in the finals. Unfortunately, it's delayed to tomorrow. But we will be ready for it."

By reaching the penultimate round, Prock, the 29-year-old driver of the Cornwell Tools Chevrolet Camaro SS, and Beckman, driving the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Camaro in relief of Force, insured that one or the other of them will win the Funny Car championship and become the fourth different JFR driver to do so. It will be the team’s 21st Funny Car title and its 23rd overall.

Prock will leave LVMS with no less than 2622 points; Beckman with no more than 2514. The next closest driver in points is Ron Capps with 2411, not enough to offset Prock’s 211-point advantage even with extra points available at the season-ending In-N-Out Burger Finals at Pomona, Calif. The most points Capps could earn in that race is 191.

"We were racing smart today," said an elated Prock, "just trying to get it done for the boss. Credit to this Cornwell Tools team, my dad (crew chief Jimmy Prock), my brother Thomas, Nate Hildahl and everybody else that makes it happen."

Prock’s teammate, 2012 NHRA Funny Car champion Jack Beckman, was just as focused.

“It’s been an odd weekend of racing,” Beckman said. “I’ve had plenty of late rounds postponed to the next day due to weather. I can’t think of any postponed due to excessive track cleanup. And what happened out here this weekend is kind of unprecedented. But we want to race our PEAK Chevy when the conditions are fair and adequate for us. It will just be a Monday trophy. I’ve got a bunch of those at home, and they’re the exact same size as the Sunday trophies.”
