Happy Monday! Today is a weird day. This marks the final episode of Villadelphia on 91.7 WIXQ. I am so thankful for all my friends, family, and listeners who have tuned in to support me over the last year and a half. Today we’ll take the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Scott Kingery’s contract with the Phils, Opening day nearing, plus Sixers talk and a whole bunch of general stuff along with sharing some stories of good times and just life in general to close the books on a great show. Flyers battle the Penguins tonight as the rivalry gets renewed! If the season ended today, these two teams would match up in round 1 of the playoffs. It would be the 3rd time in the last decade the Flyers and Penguins would play in the opening round against each other.
Pittsburgh won 4-2 in 2009 en route to winning the Stanley Cup.
Philadelphia won 4-2 in 2012 in that crazy 6 game series that featured a ridiculous amount of goals.

Roy Halliday is going into the Philadelphia Phillies Wall of Fame on August 4th, 2018. A fan vote was not needed for this decision. Great move by the Phillies and this should be the highlight on the calendar year for the 2018 Phillies.

Flyers win 1-0 in an 8 round shootout over the Canadiens to now own the top spot in the NHL's Metropolitan Division! 6th win in a row. 7th road win in a row (3rd time in franchise history they've done that) and points in 12 straight games for the Orange and Black 🏒 🥅 🎉

A lot happening heading into this matchup. Flyers acquire goaltender Petr Mrazek from Detroit after learning Michal Neuvirth is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury. Also, The Flyers have recalled forward Oskar Lindblom from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms after learning that Wayne Simmonds is expected to miss a few weeks also. Potentially two Flyers' debuts happening tonight at the Wells Fargo Center. Might have to be there in person to check this out...
