This is probably the most anxious I’ve ever been to release a “Trailer” or crowdfunding campaign. This project, and our responsibilities here in Lahaina carry so much weight for the future of our people, and I want to be able to make a difference in the best way I can to help raise awareness and get my community back home.
We have worked tirelessly for almost 5 months now and the work is not slowing down as the list hastily grows for our people and community.
With lots to do, and a compass spinning in circles, I began to look for a team to make this film happen.
I quickly realized that any “Major production company” I met with had a narrative to manipulate our story, or a goal other than to help our people.
I then reached out to my good friend @lodofilms who called up @noahwaldron.mov and they both quickly abandoned their life at home to live with me for the next 12 weeks and make something that has the possibility to truly make a difference and share our story of Lahaina with the world. With Adam’s drive, and Noah’s talent and experience, alongside the help of other local cinematographers like @manaiakalanimedia @davin.phelpsfilms @bkrvlogs we have the foundation and talent required to make a film that can impact the world!
To make a full length film at this level takes
a tremendous amount of time, resources, money and stress to come to fruition. And we need your help to get the word out and raise capital to spend the next 12 months+ bringing this project to life. For the last few years I have had the pleasure of befriending @joshybogle and he instantly made a massive impact on my life. If you have came across Josh in person, you have probably noticed his infectious smile and lust for life. When I found out about his story, and listened to all the things that he wanted to accomplish I instantly knew that I wanted share his story with the world. From almost losing it at all and becoming a quadruple amputee, Josh found a new meaning for life and passion to share his story with the world in hopes of inspiring others. After almost 2 years of filming, we are now ready for post production and have turned to crowdfunding to raise the funds needed to create the full documentary of Josh on the journey to finding his own “True North” through the Ocean and surfing. We will see Josh chasing his dream of becoming @isasurfing World adaptive champion as well inspiring others to chase their own dreams and give back to Mother Earth and our Oceans. We had a great time Filming with Zane Kekoa Schweitzer New 501c3 Non-profit "KahakuKahi" last month as they educated local Kids about regenerative agriculture & Ocean Guardianship and awareness. Thank you to all everyone thats supports this great cause Parley for the Oceans Living Earth Systems !
