Hi KSUA listeners! As you may have noticed, our transmission being down has surpassed the outage window previously posted on our website. Unfortunately, our automation computer is no longer operable due to a complete hard drive death. We are currently waiting to hear back from various channels on replacements, which may take a while. Hopefully, we won't be off air for too long! In the meantime, please use our online live stream linked below.

Hi all! Just a heads up, we'll be having another outage starting this weekend and it will extend until next Monday (approximately until around 4PM). We'll try to get our online stream back up over at https://www.ksuaradio.com/ If you can, check out some of our shows on the stream tomorrow, like Saturday Morning Jazz (10 am - 12 pm every Saturday.)

CHECK IT OUT! KSUA the student radio station here at University of Alaska Fairbanks and a few amazing DJs were awarded with multiple Broadcasters Association Goldie's awards from this past season. Shout out to Wetherleigh for bringing home one award for us. The awards was in the Student Radio section the best "Promotional Announcement."

Here's a message from Wetherleigh:
It was such an honor receiving the award from ABA! I've been on-again-off-again volunteering in radio for most of my life, and continuing that work in college was super fun and rewarding. Being in the booth recording station bumpers and IDs was a fun way to reminisce on my childhood volunteerism!

BIG NEWS! If you haven't heard KSUA the student radio station here at University of Alaska Fairbanks and a few amazing DJs were awarded with multiple Alaska Broadcasters Association Goldie's awards from this past season. Shout out to Aaron Salzman for bringing home two awards for us. The awards were for the Student Radio section and the best "Use of Digital Media" and best "Profile" show.

Here's a message from Aaron:
I’m proud to receive these awards on behalf of KSUA. Here at the station in Fairbanks, I’ve met some of my best friends and found some amazing opportunities for career advancement, such as the ability to produce my own podcast and YouTube channel (search Aaron Salzman). KSUA is the place for all things media production – make sure you check out The Sun Star as well, located in the same office. They are always looking for more up-and-coming writers and journalists!

Did you catch Saturday Morning Jazz's Vinylthon set this morning? It featured many decades of diverse hits!

"Twenty-four pieces spanning 1950-1980's -- a wide range of jazz subgenres including swing, bebop, hard bop, modal, cool, jazz-rock fusion and solo and duo improvisational performances. The show also featured Anita O'day with three pieces in one set and also showed of a range of styles and voices in another set with five song stylists featuring three greats -- Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and Lena Horne from the 1950's, and two relatively unknowns (but most excellent young singers) from the1960's -- Dakota Station and Miss Gloria Lynne."

Vinylthon coming soon to a radio station near you... Vinylthon 2024. Live on KSUA Radio 91.5 FM starting April 20th (Saturday) 12 AM to April 21st 11:59 PM (Sunday).

What is vinylthon? Hosted by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Student Media department a annual event simultaneously with college radio's across the U.S. 48 hours of vinyl, hosted by DJs at KSUA radio.

Special thanks to all the DJs who will be hosting shows all weekend long.

Happy Wednesday, from the staff here at KSUA we would like to share a collection of archival photos that we found titled "Bus".

Were back once again and need your help to figure out what was happening in these photos. Check it out below...the only clues we have so far is that KSUA used to host cruiser rides to concerts...perhaps Bon Jovi? Rude Awakening? If you look closely you can see that Pike's Landing was the departure location..... Check it out and comment below. 🙂

Growing up British I have always had a lot of nostalgia and love for the UK's pop culture and media, especially music. Having literally the coolest parents ever who spent their university years in Manchester seeing bands like The Stone Roses, Oasis, and Blur play for FREE in dingy pubs, I’ve naturally developed an interest in British music and the culture surrounding the revolutionizing time period in the UK in the late 80s and early 90s. My show will be mainly focused on bringing my favorite British music to Alaska, but I will not be shying away from different music scenes, genres, and cultures. My show is an ode to home and a place where I can share my little corner of British music culture with UAF and whoever is listening.

Hi everyone!

I am very excited to say that the radio play that I have been working on since last semester (some of you might remember me talking about it at the DJ meetings) is finally ready to be aired on KSUA live! I will also be having a public showing on Thursday, April 18th 2:00-4:00 PM for it here at KSUA (see attached flyers - feel free to share them)! I would love to see some of you there if you can make it!

If not, have no fear, it will be live on KSUA at the same time (so you can listen to it anywhere) and it will also be posted on my YouTube channel (hopefully) sometime before then!

Thank you so much to some of you who were my actors and thank you for supporting me in this endeavour! I really appreciate it!
