In this video, Daniel Gallagher, owner of one of Septemberâs profiled companies Daniels Plumbing and Heating, takes you on site at an aluminum fabrication plant in northeast Philadelphia. October Cleaner
The October issue of Cleaner is out, featuring Dr. Rooter of Nanuet, New York. In 1996, owner Dave Ferrier moved to New York from California at age 18 to work for his uncle, a landscaper. He wasnât really sure exactly what he wanted to do career wise beyond that. But he certainly found his way. In 2000, Ferrier started Dr. Rooter and from humble beginnings he has grown the company into an enterprise generating annual gross revenue of about $800,000.

September Cleaner
The September issue of Cleaner is out, featuring Daniels Plumbing. Owner Daniel Gallagher has run the successful business in Philadelphia for 17 years, but he also looks beyond his own interests and tries to give back toward the larger plumbing and drain cleaning industry. He currently sits on the state board for the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association. He has also held various positions in Philadelphiaâs Master Plumbers Association, including a three-year term as president. That organization is re-opening its apprenticeship school, with a goal of attracting at-risk youth. âOur objective is to get these inner-city kids and put a tool in their hands instead of a gun,â Gallagher says. âThese arenât kids in a single-parent home â their grandmothers are raising them. I would like to help them. Too many people donât want to give them a chance.â
NOW LIVE | The October 2022 Issue of Cleaner
NOW LIVE | The October issue of Cleaner is out, featuring Prodigy Plumbing of Long Beach, California. Owner Mark Ellefson puts an emphasis on maintaining a strong company culture and to do so he takes an approach that some find atypical for the plumbing and drain cleaning industry. For example, he hired a business coach who taught employees about the seven habits of highly effective people, based on the best-selling book by the same name. Employees attended weekly, half-hour-long workshops, followed by individual sessions if necessary. âEvery plumber I talk to about this says, âWho does this?!â And I say, âWe do,ââ Ellefson says. âWeâre successful because we think differently. Just because weâre plumbers doesnât mean we canât think at a higher level. If youâre not growing, youâre moving backwards.â
Tight Quarters Are No Problem for This Pipe Lining System
Pipe Lining Supply designed its Quik-Shot pipe lining system primarily for contractors working in basements, on roofs or in other confined areas. The portable air inversion unit can even fit in the back of a pickup truck if a contractor doesnât have a need for a fully equipped lining trailer.

Dual-Purpose Machine Cleans and Coats Aging Pipes
In this video from the 2018 Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport (WWETT) Show, we get an up-close look at the Maxi Coating Pump for pipe rehabilitation offered by HammerHead Trenchless Equipment. When youâre rehabbing pipe, instead of lining or doing a point repair, sometimes all it needs is a simple epoxy coating to extend its life. Thatâs where this system comes into play. The Maxi Coating Pump can coat lined or unlined pipes from 3 to 12 inches more than 100 feet in length. HammerHead Trenchless

Finding the Right Descaling Tools for Problem Pipes
Prior to a pipe lining job, every pipe has different cleaning needs â whether it's tuberculation, calcification or corrosion â and youâve got to have the right tool for the job. Thatâs where HammerHeadâs Picote line of pipe-cleaning tools come into play. This video takes a look at a few cleaning tools, such as the Spider and chains, and then looks at the Twister that is used for reinstatement post-lining. Learn more at www.hammerheadshop.com.
