Congratulations to the Lynnville-Sully Hawks who punched their ticket to the Class 1A State Baseball Tournament after beating Ankeny Christian Academy 1-0 in nine innings Tuesday night.

The Hawks will next face Sigourney in the Class 1A Quarterfinals on Monday, July 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Merchants Park in Carroll. Go Hawks!

Congratulations to the winners of our Cutie Contests! Brexley Van Haaften, daughter of Ben and Jeana Van Haaften of Sully, had the most votes to win the $100 prize in the Cutest Baby Contest, which had 23 entries. $465.50 will be donated to the Sully Ballpark Rejuvenation Fund from that contest. Winston, owned by Jessica Terpstra (granddog of Doug Terpstra, born and raised in Sully) had the most votes to win the $100 prize in the pet contest, which had 15 entries. $196.14 will be donated to the ballpark fund from that contest. Thanks to all who participated!
