Live Streamed with my AV team at St Johns Episcopal Church 'Mozart Among Friends' on April 21st. It celebrated camaraderie among composers like Mozart, Haydn, Mendelssohn, and Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Featuring the St. John's Choir and Orchestra with Mozart's Vesperae solennes de confessore as the centerpiece, this event highlighted the power of musical and communa fellowship. Congrats to conductors Andrew Halladay and Aaron Hirsch for their selection of conductions.

A short list of AI tools useful for filmmakers.
While ChatGPT is making the most news and raising level of interest unseen in decades, AI has been in the background with many of the tools that filmmakers are already familiar with, namely Adobe Creative Cloud Products and their Essential Tools in Premiere Pro for color, audio and transcription work.
I have also been using Descript since July 2020 as a tool to write a script, and then listen to how it sounds before committing to an actual voice-over. This form of audio overdubbing has been incredibly helpful for projects where there is a technically training involved and script keeps changing. It was also great for creating machine transcriptions and captions before Adobe Premiere added that same feature.
WHAT IS NEXT?
Imagine my happy surprise to see an even greater list being compiled with even more resources.

Super proud that my longtime storyboard artist Janet Kusnick is receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 27th Annual Art Directors Guild Awards. Baz Luhrmann (Elvis) and Guillermo Del Torro (The Shape of Water) will also be receiving awards in other categories.
I first hired Janet to help me pre-visualize a fight sequence in the cyberpunk life-action video game that I was producing and directing in 1994 entitled "Cyberhood." She was working with another director at that same time on something called "Pulp Fiction." Needless to say, Janet was a wealth of talent on how to make those game sequences more cinematic. She continued to do commercial work for me over the years when I needed to explain a complex sequence to a client. Our most recent collaboration was for The Unruly Mystic: John Muir (2018) in which she illustrated the descriptive sequences that I wrote which turned into animations for that film.
We recently saw each other in Los Angeles in May, and she is still the wonderful person that I remember from thirty years ago. I am glad that she is being acknowledged for her talents by her peers.

I have been providing streaming services for almost a decade now. Yes, you read that right. That means I have seen a lot of technical changes with audience adaptation to this type of experience. However there is still room for improvement.

Through the process of making my films and putting on these live virtual events Join Saint Hildegard for 12-days with Daily Videos, Inspiring Short Talks, Live Virtual 2-day Feast, I gained more confidence in my own creative work and importance of making something of value for the world. For those of us that haven’t yet taken that plunge fully, I would say there is someone right now looking for something that your future self will be creating.
I learned that asking the right questions can be hard. Presenting in the live virtual events space has made that even more challenging.

It seems everyone has a Scott Rudin story as read in “Everyone Just Knows He’s an Absolute Monster”: Scott Rudin’s Ex-Staffers Speak Out on Abusive Behavior – The Hollywood Reporter (April 07, 2021.) My own now goes back thirty years. It occurred on Labor Day Weekend in 1991 when I was working at Paramount Studios as a Director’s Assistant to the Academy Award Nominated Director-Writer Bruce Robinson (The Killing Fields, With Nail and I) on his serial-killer thriller Jennifer 8 (1992).
