WBOB was born in 1982 at Springfield College. But the actual name was given to him by Ron Smith, the Golf Pro at Webhannet Golf Course in Kennebunk, Maine. This is where college student Robert Akers worked during the summer. And though he had already been in business for 2 years, the name stuck. The roots of this disc jockey service grew from a love of music and dance. When he was not spinning ( v

inyl records ) at a party or a club he was there dancing (also the founding member of the SC Breakers, break dancing crew). It was not until 1986 that Weddings came into the mix, then school dances and holiday parties. Before long there was a WBOB van driving all over New England bringing music to just about any party or occasion. In the 90’s, the switch was made to cds and now all of our music is stored on a computer and available at the touch of a button. We have changed with the times and still know how to get a party moving. Please give us a call and here some stories of get some advice on how to make your event a complete success!!
