Renowned actor Donald Sutherland has died. He was 88. Sutherland's son, actor Kiefer Sutherland, posted the news to social media, paying tribute to his late father.

"With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away," Kiefer Sutherland wrote. "I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived."

🚨 Important Reminder for Anglers 🚨

Starting tomorrow, June 20, 2024, the new Red Drum size and daily creel limits will be enforced. Please take note of the updated regulations:

▪ 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗹: 4-fish daily limit per angler
▪ 𝗦𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁: 18-inch minimum and 27-inch maximum total length
▪ 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘀: Keeping Red Drum over 27 inches is prohibited
▪ 𝗙𝗼𝗿-𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀: Retention of Red Drum by captain and crew on charter or head boats is prohibited. Captains and crew can demonstrate how to catch Red Drum but cannot retain them towards any limit on the vessel.

📣🐊 Calling all aspiring alligator hunters! LDWF is hosting alligator lottery harvests from August 28 to November 2, 2024, across 22 WMAs, 28 public lakes, and one USACE property.

📝 How to apply:
▪ Click on the Lottery Applications tab.
▪ Update or create your customer details.
▪ Submit your application. (Note: $5 application fee + $3.50 transaction fee)

💡 Key Details:
▪ One application per customer.
▪ Must be a legal Louisiana resident and 16+ years old.
▪ If selected, purchase an alligator hunter license ($25) and pay $40 per allocated tag.

According to an LPSS Press Release, effective July 1, the positions previously known as Directors of Schools will be reclassified as Chiefs of Schools, and three LPSS veterans will fill the roles: Ginger Richard, Chief of Elementary Schools; John Mouton, Chief of Middle Schools; and Julia Williams, Chief of High Schools.
