It’s sad that people are so use to being called something less important, impactful, intelligent, or empowering! That they question you when you offer a term of endearment at Hello. If you know me, then you have experienced what I’m speaking to. I’m intentional about positive affirmation. I “choose” to address you as “Beautiful” or “Gorgeous” or “King” or “Family” or “Friend” or “Sunshine” because you are. It irritates my soul that as a people we can’t seem to simply “choose” positive words when addressing each other. Yet, you do it at work, you do it in your business, you do it at your child’s school, you do it at church, and in many environments and or organization you operate in, on an everyday basis. How is it that you skip right over HOME? News flash! Thank you to all who match the same energy and bless my entire essence with respect at hello I am not offended and some days it’s just what I needed. Outside of my name Gwendolyn, I refused to be labeled or referenced as anything but someone who is about her business, family and positive vibes, just because “you choose a stagnant mindset”. At my age, I’ve grown to realize that is a choice. I choose to give you the same respect that I give those outside of my home, family, and friend circle. If you need a take away from this message, know that “I CHOOSE to respect you by how I address you”. If you can’t, understand I “choose” not to grow backwards for anyone! My self-work has been too hard to turn back now. In layman’s, I choose to stop operating under their programming that we are less than and No this is not a “Woke” memo, I simply choose to grow up. Pay attention to the “Choice’s” people make about your person, it’s a good indicator of the level of respect they “plan” to offer. #QueenG
