Tiny bits from 10 days out West.
In the company of wild things.
Next time I’m bringing bigger lenses.
As someone who could sit on the hood of my car and stare at a mountain for 10 hours and be perfectly at peace I can’t help but wonder why I live in Indiana. My family is here, my business is here, but I’m pretty sure I left my heart out west.
What a beautiful day it was. Congrats again to Adam & Sarah!
Some late toss ups from my parents “Let’s throw a party and hire a band for no reason” party.
Had the pleasure of shooting this insane outdoor living space in Evansville (area) last week. I have to say, without my involvement in the I would not have had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing people nor the opportunity to photograph these amazing projects. If you’re a landscape contractor in Indiana I would strongly consider joining this association. The benefits and opportunities far outweigh the very minimal yearly membership fee.
Favorite shoot to date?
A few highlights from the race last weekend. Still can’t hear. Chest still rumbles 🤙🏻
Fancy old things and a fella channeling his inner Bee-Gee. Thursday’s in CP

Revisiting some portraits from my nieces senior session back in the Covid days.
I’m not a massive bourbon guy (I’m trying to fix that) so I didn’t really know what the big deal was when I was asked to photograph theses bottles of …8 of them.
I know now. Lesson learned.
Loving the nighttime vibes in Fort Myers. Miss the fam like crazy but it’s cool being able to wander around and take in a different aesthetic.
Solid day at the beach yesterday my people. Naturally, Stacie ended up as the camera pack mule and Hunter ended up getting sick later that evening, but besides that- great freaking day for a hike!
Mission accomplished. Destin, 2023
Sundays 🤌🏻
30 minute breathers.
Underrated Wisconsin trip from a few years ago. A gentle reminder that there are cool places I can get to without a 30 hr drive.
I’ve been stuck in the office the last week working on my seminar and a video for and finally took a minute to get some fresh air. I jumped in Black Beauty and headed south a bit to visit my parents and hit a sweet spot of mine I love to photograph on the way home.
Ps- I know she’s old but I absolutely love taking pictures of Black Beauty. Especially in the winter 🤌🏻

.mountain was good to us this weekend. We all walked away a little wounded but we took our lumps in stride. 🤙🏻
Hooked up with .baumann03 to do something unique for me while trying to capture some normal things for her. Nothing like pulling myself out of the still life comfort zone 🤌🏻
Mini Holiday Dump. 2022 was kind to us. We dealt with significant changes but everyone took it in stride. My little tribe are my hero’s and my foundation. Wouldn’t want to do life with anyone else. Happy New Year’s to my friends and family. 2023 is going to be fu***ng sick 🤌🏻
#2022
When the bison are near-ish the road, you stop. I always bring my 100-400 lens with me when I know I’m going to be near them because you just never know

This photo is so cool. It’s literally Hunter taking a picture of me taking a picture of my dad. I only brought two old school cameras with me; my Canon 5d classic and my Minolta AL-F film camera. I know this doesn’t mean anything to most people but I brought two cameras I felt have always connected me to a moment. I learned photography on a film camera and shot my first wedding on the same camera my son was holding in his hands. No video, no crazy ISO, just me and two old cameras. Then my son picked up my digital camera while I was shooting film and began to take some pictures. It was so cool to see him getting so stoked on taking pictures. And now here I sit, looking at an image he captured, getting stoked on that. Full circle. Full cup.
Not the greatest photos I’ve ever taken but definitely some of the most meaningful. My father, son, and I loaded up my parents camper van and shot down to Tennessee for a great little weekend in a cabin. Though we only had one day in the mountains, it felt like we packed enough memorable moments into it and I can safely call this a great way to end the last camp trip of 2022.
Beach lunches.
walks
Had way too much fun with these kids. Super excited to get the images out and delivered today!
Had a bit of a catastrophe in the form of lost files. The beauty of looking through 75 terabytes of storage is coming across older files. Here are a few of my favorite photos from a senior session with who is busy getting his education and leaping over buildings
Lunch at the beach. Followed by a hike. Followed by photos.

I was driving down the highway today when I got a text from @mulderoutdoors telling me that we had made the 2022 Unilock catalog for two of his jobs I photographed. A few minutes later he text again asking me if another one of the pictures in the catalog was mine. When I finally got pulled over and was able to look at the catalog I was completely blown away. I had made the catalog several times over. It’s unbelievable to me. I really wanted this, I’m not going to lie, but to get in for 5-6 different projects absolutely blows me away. I have to give credit where credit is due, the jobs I photographed for @unilock were amazing. The craftsmanship involved on these projects were true testaments to the companies talents for design and their crews efforts during installation. I’ve looked at the catalog a few times today and each time I can’t help but shake my head in disbelief. I’m so grateful for the opportunities to work for my clients. My efforts have always been about them and how to best represent their finished project in the absolute best way I can. It’s still surreal. It’s also the second time I’ve pinched myself this week. This is, by far, is the highlight of my photography career. #blessed . . #grateful #gratitude #surreal #design #create #build #photography #photgrapher #landscape #architecture #landscapearchitecture #outdoors #outdoorliving #hardscape #hardscaping #pavers #retainingwall #unilock #catalog #landscapephotography #landscapedesign #goals #dream #stilllife #pride #effort #workhard
