**THE IMPORTANCE OF COMPETITION**
This weekend, the gym where I work out is hosting a “Tug Of War” competition. The owner of the gym was on the show a few weeks ago. He not only told us details about the event, but he also explained what motivated him to host such an event.
Competition is not only fun; it is also a way to test your limits. As human beings (especially men), it is natural for us to want to do that. For some reason, over the years, truly testing yourself and pushing your limits has been discouraged. It has been replaced with participation trophies and the ridiculous concept of toxic masculinity. What an absurd and dangerous concept! Where would this world be without men—real men, masculine men? Men who have physically built this nation for centuries. Men who have defended and fought for the freedoms that we enjoy today. Why would anyone want weaker men? Men who live in their mother’s basements, sit at a keyboard all day, and whine about how unfair life is.
Women should be no different. As a "girl dad," I had a mission: to raise a warrior, not a princess. I am proud to say that I achieved my mission. Women can still be ladies and enjoy lady things. But they should also have the ability to support themselves in every sense of the word: physically, emotionally, and financially. My daughter will be able to cook her future husband’s supper but will also be capable of carving his heart out with one of the knives I’ve given her if he lays a hand on her. It is just as important for a woman to test her physical limits.
Another reason why I think everyone should support this event and events like it is that we always complain about there not being enough to do in our areas. Well, when we do have things, we should support them. We should be there cheering these men and women on, showing them we are proud of their efforts and the examples they are setting for the future “Men’s Men” and strong, independent women of our nation.
If you are local, please visit GI Joe’s Gym page for details and consider coming out to support these warriors. If you aren’t local, get off your ass and find a similar event in your area and support it!
