Hello Lover

Ok … so … original JM drummer, Drew Schmidt, is back in the fold. My solo record drummer and, as well, the reigning JM drummer (and drummer you hear on the “An End To All Things” Album – Michael Morales taking time to focus on his new born (the Morales family’s second child) and his family in general (we support and salute you, Michael – congrats!). That said, Drew and I had a chance to catch up tonight – the first time in 2 ½ years and the first time Drew has touched the drums in the same time frame. That said, the evening started out with a hug, Drew giving some love to his old kit, me setting up the electric (which I haven’t touched in about six months) and then … Drew asks me “What should we start with.” And I say “Just play a beat and I’ll come up with something. That’s how you and I work.” Drew lays down a beat, I lay down a riff and vocals and we had a new song immediately. Within about 10 minutes! Calling it “Hello Lover.” Seriously … this song came out of our first jam session in 2 and ½ years. It came out of the first beat Drew laid down. Only great things can come from here. Enjoy!
