Ackee (Blighia sapida) is the National fruit of Jamaica. A native of West Africa, it was brought to Jamaica in the 1700s by Captain William Bligh. It is used for treatment of colds, fever, epilepsy, and water retention. It is a part of the dish ackee and salt fish. How do you enjoy ackee.
