Smartphone Photography Tip of the Day:

Did you know the most important thing when taking a photograph with your smartphone is cleaning the lens? Smartphone camera lenses are small and less forgiving than larger camera lenses. While smartphones can take magnificent photos, a clean lens is essential.

A fingerprint on your lens might as well be a tree trunk in your camera’s field of view, scattering light and causing ugly streaking or foggy photos. To avoid this, breathe on the lens and wipe it with your shirt until the streaking disappears. In dark areas, aim at a light source to check for streaks and clean thoroughly.

Try this: Take a photo of a streetlight, clean your lens, and take the same photo again. Compare the results and see the difference!

We have a roller crash in Cross Plains on Woodrow Wilson Road between Ruby Keith Road and Tate Road. If you're down on South Main Street near Watson Road in Downtown Springfield, you may have noticed a congregation of first responders. They're dealing with a small gas leak. The gas department has been contacted, and one building has been momentarily evacuated. However, there's no real danger to the surrounding communities.
