The incredible students at Moulton Elementary took the stage to share what they’ve learned through the DO THE MATH 247 "B.U.L.L.Y." activity, during the after-school program. From embracing empathy to standing united against bullying, their voices were powerful reminders that kindness and courage make a difference.

When students learn to Add understanding, Subtract being mean, Multiply kindness, Divide unity, and practice Equality, the equation for a better world becomes crystal clear.

🚀 Peer-Pressure: The Good, The Bad & How to Handle It!💡

Peer-pressure is real, but did you know it can be both negative and positive? In our Do The Math 247 character-building class, we teach students how to stand up to negative peer-pressure and use positive peer-pressure to help each other grow!

🔴 Negative Peer-Pressure = Friends pushing you to do things that feel wrong (being mean, breaking rules, leaving someone out).
🟢 Positive Peer-Pressure = Friends encouraging you to do your best (helping others, including everyone, making smart choices).

✨ Why Positive Peer-Pressure is Awesome!
✅ Helps you be kind and make good choices
✅ Encourages you to try new things and believe in yourself
✅ Teaches you to stand up for others
✅ Helps you make great friends who lift you up!

Do The Math 247 Character-Building Program aligns with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) in school:

1. Self-Awareness

Encourages students to reflect on their values and behavior through self-respect lessons.

Builds emotional awareness by connecting personal feelings to the concepts of kindness, empathy, and acceptance.

2. Self-Management

Teaches students the importance of self-control in managing peer pressure and emotions.

Encourages goal-setting for personal growth through the "Multiply" (kindness and understanding) symbol.

3. Social Awareness

Promotes understanding of others' perspectives through lessons on empathy and inclusion.

Explores societal issues like bullying and stereotypes, fostering compassion and awareness of injustices.

DO THE MATH 247 "Empathy Shoes" Activity. Walking in Someone Else’s Shoes… Literally! 👟✨

At Moulton Elementary, we had an incredible after-school class discussion on Kindness and Empathy. We discussed different ways to be kind in school, in the community as well as understanding empathy. The highlight? Our "Empathy Shoes" activity. Students explored what it truly means to empathize by decorating shoe covers with the word empathy and walking in them.

During the activity, as the students paced the cafeteria in their "Empathy Shoes", they imagined life through the eyes of a new student, a classmate facing bullying, or someone feeling left out.

After the activity we came back together to discuss the outcomes. The students gained a deeper understanding of what others might feel. Their reflections? Eye-opening. Their growth? Inspiring.

Our "Empathy Shoes" activity wasn’t about wearing shoe covers. It was about walking into understanding, connection, and change.

💡DO THE MATH 247 "Empathy Shoes" activity is a great way for elementary students to mentally walk in someone else’s shoes. Let’s Add more kindness, Subtract judgment, Multiply compassion, Divide understanding, and strive for Equality.
