First ‘best cinematography’ award for my first feature film.

The awards are starting to roll in for Somewhere Confidential. Including some for ‘best feature’. I’m very proud of the work everyone did on this fun project.

My dedicated crew had my back on this one, thank you all. Thanks to Casey Siegel and James Tristan Moore who asked me to shoot this hilarious film.

We had such amazing performances by Eric Nepom and the rest of the cast who is also collecting awards.

Another specialty I now offer is this advanced 4 axis stabilization system called the Tilta Float. It’s custom modified for best results and can fit cameras such as RED Komodo, Blackmagic Pocket/Cinema 6K cameras, Sony FX6 and others. This system can do more than a regular Steadicam and will make dynamic moves in almost any direction. This enabled me to create a one take shot for a feature film that was over three minutes in just 7 takes.

One of my specialty skills is motion control camera operating. I had the opportunity to operate on The Highest of Stakes feature documentary recently. The production value for this documentary was amazing which brought me a lot of inspiration as I designed shots for the story of a cryptocurrency founder and his followers. Here I’m shooting a set of a basement built in a local studio space.

No jib no problem! Captured a really nice shot from above climbing up a small ladder with the Float System on. I felt it was much safer than other options. Thanks to my crew for spotting me and making this shot happen.

I’ve been loving the Float System more and more as I modify it to my needs. and I had to significantly counterbalance this Komodo rig paired with the ARRI/Zeiss Super Speeds for . It worked beautifully!

Proud to have our work featured on The Light Bridge’s account. I had met at .festival in 2019 and he demoed the CRLS for me. I’ve been taken by them ever since.

I’m grateful to have been asked to DP and its campaign. When we needed to get a natural look for our driving scene I had a feeling the CRLS were definitely the right tool for simplicity and safety with such a small crew for our promo shoot. I connected with who owns the set and we put together a plan. I’m very pleased with the results. And we have yet to shoot for the actual film! So stay tuned for more.

Frame grab from my SmallHD Cine7 monitor. This location was fun and tricky at the same time. Got creative with my approach to hide some things in frame that definitely were not period appropriate and felt Ike we were successful in the end. Brought out my tried and true Cineo HS2 and Maverick lights to get our characters looking right.

One of my favorite frames from DPing the feature film Somewhere Confidential. This was a tough day with the weather constantly changing on us with rain. The right moment came and we grabbed the arrest. Shot at 32 fps to suspend reality a bit and show off some of the great performances.

Having solid crew makes everything better on set and more fun. Gabe Twigg and Eric Bixler had my back all day on this shoot and crushed it. The focus was always on point and the lighting was gorgeous. Love working with these two badasses.

New work for Intel. Added on the director’s hat with my typical cinematographer’s hat for this one.

Used the Alexa Mini LF with EZ zooms on an Vario 5. Our gaffer pulled out his .spider Redback for our beautiful key light.

Working with Mike, our killer crew and amazing production team was a joy. The 3DAT tech was super awesome too.
