In an effort to ensure student safety, we have some new policies regarding parking.
PHS now provides security surveillance of all parking lots, daily checks by our SROs, and newly paved parking lots and access roads. These new policies will ensure all drivers are properly insured and legally allowed to operate a motor vehicle.
All students who drive a vehicle on school property will be required to purchase an annual parking tag at the cost of $20.00 through GOFAN.

James Marshall is a Career Agricultural Education Instructor with 16 years experience in LeFlore County, building diverse and active programs in leadership, mechanics, public speaking, shooting sports, and livestock with multiple National 3-star designations before becoming a Poteau Pirate. Mr. Marshall has two children (10 and 18 months) and is married to Katie (Odom) from Cameron in 2020, a Poteau High School Alumni. He has family ties to the area, his mother being a graduate of Bokoshe High School and family still in the Bokoshe area farming cattle and forage as well as poultry production for OK Foods for many years. Mr. Marshall is a graduate of EOSC (Associates), Oklahoma State University (Bachelors), and Southern Nazarene University (Masters) and a member of Cameron Community Church. He grew up on a small family farm in Holly Creek/Oak Hill community near Idabel raising cattle and sheep following his family owning a swine production unit with Tyson Foods until 1998 and four generations of educators in the Idabel/Broken Bow area. They continue the family farming traditions on the family farm in Bokoshe.

She was required to perform clinical duties while displaying professionalism and applying communication skills. Chani provided patient instructions all while using legal, ethical, and confidentiality concepts. Chani is a graduate of Kiamichi Tech's Health Careers Education - Medical Assistant program and Poteau Public Schools. The PHS Pom Squad earned a national bid following their outstanding performance at the NDA camp this week. This significant achievement is a testament to the hard work and talent of our squad members.
In addition to securing a national bid, six of our talented dancers received All-American nominations. Out of these six nominees, two members stood out even further making the All-American team.

These two students have the opportunity of a lifetime! They have qualified with their teams to go to TSA National convention with their projects: Audio Podcasting and Digital Video Production. The convention is June 28-July 2 in Louisville KY. Eddie and Auri are asking for help in getting there. The registration, hotel and travel is an expense beyond what the budget can afford. Contact Mrs. J Hackler at PHS with any questions or to donate. ANY amount is appreciated.
The Poteau Pirates Esports team is looking for players for the Spring competitive season! We are looking for students interested in playing any of the following games: Apex Legends Overwatch 2 Rocket League Fortnite Valorant Super Smash Brothers Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Beat Saber Halo Infinite Divine Knockout (DKO) Knockout Kings Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and several others. The competitive season for both will begin in mid to late January and run through March. If you are interested in playing any of the above games competitively, or just playing games for fun and learning more about Esports as a career, please let Mrs. Humphries ([email protected]) and/or Mrs. Barnes ([email protected]) and/or Nathan Stinson ([email protected]) know this week, so that you can see about getting involved in the program.

Rylan was just featured on ESPN! He is representing Poteau at the Special Olympics National Games in Orlando this week!! This is the opening ceremonies. So cool to see him on ESPN! Good luck Rylan! (*sorry there is no sound. I will work to get the footage so we can hear the whole thing 🥰)
