Congratulations to our fearless leader and very own trailblazer! We’re so proud of all the hard work she has put into making this community more inclusive, telling important stories, and being a voice for the underrepresented. We are eternally grateful for her and for her vision, and can't wait to see what else she can accomplish. ✨

Congratulations to Annie Tonsiengsom for being this year’s recipient of the Service & Inspiration Award – awarded to someone who has made a substantial contribution to the betterment of the community. 🏆 We commend Annie for constantly seeking out ways to make the industry better and more inclusive. She inspires by the way she leads, listens, nurtures, and lifts up her peers.

A first-generation Thai-American, Annie loves to reach others through digital media. She’s an OMPA board member and Executive Producer/Co-founder of
Actual Industries, a woman of color-owned-and-operated agency and production company. Annie cares deeply about creating opportunities for BIPOC and other underrepresented communities who strive to tell and have their stories heard. Between her work with Actual Industries, OMPA’s DEI committee, and Board of Directors, Annie is committed to equitable and inclusive practices across the industry. Upon presenting Annie with her award, Director Dawn Jones Redstone said, “Beyond her commitment to OMPA as a volunteer, she is constantly seeking out ways to make the industry better and more inclusive.”

Thank you, Annie, for your dedication to your community, your craft, and for igniting the passion to create in all of us! Your presence in the industry is vital, and we can’t wait to see what you do next.

Cameras can bring us to faraway places and present us with new perspectives.

This particular camera was carried by a friend, a rifleman in the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam, who was tasked with a mission to capture pictures of members of his battalion for Army and civilian newspapers back home. Throughout his tour, his photos, developed in the jungle and sent back to newsroom editors across the US, brought the faces of servicemembers back to their hometown communities.

The lenscap is a beercan left over from the Korean War. That beer may have expired in the 50s, but by ’68 the bar charged only a nickel a can, and if the beer inside still fizzed after banging the can on something before you popped the top, it was safe enough to drink.

We want to share our deepest thanks with our friends and family members who currently serve, and who have served our country, for your service. Thanks also for the stories of America you share with those you meet, and for the stories you bring back to share with us when you return.

While most movie theaters are worrying about their futures, the 99W Drive-in Theatre in Newberg has rarely been so popular. One of only three old-school drive-ins left in the state, the 99W usually opens in late spring. But this year, the theater has been flooded with calls from patrons asking the t...

So happy to see John Krasinski keeping up his SGN-SOME GOOD NEWS broadcasts.
Last night's episode was all about people in the food industry making and donating meals to those in need.
(We were particularly excited to see Guy Fieri and Stanley Tucci contributing to this video ; )

"The beautiful thing about food … is you don’t have to be a big-time chef to make a huge difference,” Krasinski said, pointing to a family who turned their lawn into a food pantry and members of the National Guard packing meals for food banks in Washington state.

“It’s heartwarming to point out that every single person in that segment, that was making food to make a difference, they were doing it all without charging a dollar, because that is just what heroes do,” Krasinski added.
