The big news today is that it has been officially announced that KISS has sold “the brand” to Pophouse for over $300 million dollars.

If you listened to my interview last week with KISS manager Doc McGhee, this announcement should not have been a surprise. He told us during that interview that the band had found a partner (he couldn’t say who yet) and the deal was basically done.

I’ve seen some people say they are surprised that the price for “the brand” was not higher. I remind you what Doc told me…..Paul & Gene retained some percentage of ownership (he didn’t say how much) and that they still held decision rights. Clearly those decisions factor into the price.
