My wife was at the Philippine consulate in Houston, TX. She was at the swearing in ceremony to become a “dual citizen” of the Phillipines today (10-08-2024.)

She is now a citizen of both the USA and the Philippines.

She is pictured here in front of a Philippine Kelesa which is on display at the Philippine Consulate in Houston, TX.

March 4, 2024 — Proverbs 22:6 — “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
I have a wife and two young kids. This verse tells me that it is my responsibility to train my kids in the ways of God both in principle and example. A few points…
1. It is imperative that both mom and dad be married. (If you are not, for the sake of your kids, get married LEGALLY, even if it’s a civil wedding.)
2. I’ll be held responsible for what my school teachers are teaching my kids. (This is why I’m adamantly AGAINST Christian parents sending their kids to public school. They are both heathen and anti-God. Your kids will learn from the heathen kids there also. Either send them to a good Christian school or train them yourself (homeschool.))
3. The Christian school and the church are not a substitute for training your kids. Although I send my kids to Christian school, I still take the time to train my kids and to build a good relationship with them.
4. The most important thing is for me is to be a good Christian example in how I live my life and how I treat my kids. (The #1 cause of rebellion in kids is a hypocritical and inconsistent life lived by the parents.)
5. Have the right home life that’s consistent with good Christian values both in private and in public. (NO “double life.”)
I can list many other points but I hope what I’ve said here is helpful.

I noticed in the press recently that Muslims want McDonalds boycotted because they gave free food to the IDF soldiers in Israel who are fighting against Hamas.
The things you need to understand about Muslims…
The vast majority of the Muslims are in agreement with the terrorists who want to destroy Israel and kill Christians.
(If they say otherwise, they are lying to you. They are taught that it’s okay to lie to non-Muslims to advance their religion.)
Muslims kill far more Christians than they do Jews. They will kill anyone else who won’t convert to their religion.
Even though the 99% aren’t doing the terrorism, they are supporting the ones that do.

With that said….
WE AMERICANS SHOULD BOYCOTT ALL MUSLIM BUSINESS IN THE USA.
While we are at it, let’s support pro-Israel businesses (like McDonalds) by buying from them.

Please pass this message along to other people you know.

Some lessons from the book of Esther.
Here are my lessons…
1. Vashti was correct in her decision to refuse King Ahasuerus’s command to show off her beauty at his wicked party. Standing for principle ended up costing her position as queen. (Both she and her young son, Artaxerxes, were banished to her home province. Artaxerxes would be back 9 years after the time Esther was made queen to right the wrong done to his mother.)
2. Esther should not have married that heathen king Ahasuerus to begin with. — God commanded the Jewish people to marry only within their race and tribe. As for race… (Deuteronomy 7:3,4 — ”Neither shalt thou make marriage with them (gentiles/heathen;) thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.”) As for tribe — (Numbers 36:7, “So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for everyone of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.”)
3. Mordecai should not have entered Esther as a candidate for queen. Esther should have declined Mordecai’s offer for reasons stated above.
4. King Ahasuerus violated the custom of the Medes and Persians by marrying Esther (a Jewish captive) and making her queen. According to historians… Making a Jew a queen caused a lot of strife within the kingdom. This led to the violent overthrow of his kingdom 9 years after Esther was made queen which was led by Artaxerxes who was Queen Vashti’s son. This resulted in the death of Esther and Mordecai, along with many other people in the king’s ruling class.
5. Even though Haman was a wicked man, Mordecai should have shown him respect (not for him), but out of respect for the king. Bear in mind that it was the king who appointed Haman to that position. Had Mordecai done that, the Jews would not have been put in danger of extinction by the command of Haman.
6. Haman made the fatal mistake of misusing the king’s authority to exact revenge against Mordecai by taking it out on the Jews which resulted in the death of him and his family. If Haman had a problem with Mordecai’s disrespect, he should have taken it directly to the king and asked him what to do about it. (Mordecai could have lost his head over that.)

I know I’m taking these lessons from a different angle from what is normally presented by other people who teach about Esther.
I hope these lessons are a blessing to you.

Satan’s interaction with God in the book of Job
I was reading in the book of Job about the interaction between Satan and God in Chapter 1. I noted that Satan is limited by what God will allow him to do to you. God can remove his blessing and protection, and permit Satan to hurt you as a test from God. If you pass, God will reward you with his blessings. The key passage is… Job 1:9-11 “Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.”

Key points…
1. Satan really wanted to hurt Job but can’t because God would not allow it.
2. Satan had to go to God to ask him for permission to hurt him.
3. Satan really thought that if God would remove from Job His protection, possessions and blessings that Job would blame God and curse him to his face. (Many Christian people actually do that: When much trouble comes into their lives, they get mad at God and curse him to his face. “How dare you God? I’m living righteous and you do this to me? I hate you now and you won’t get any more of my life.” These people end up living their lives as bitter, miserable, critical and hateful people.)
4. In the first 2 chapters of Job… God granted Satan the permission he wanted. After Job lost his wealth, family, and his wife; Job still thanked God for everything and did NOT curse him.
5. Job’s friends were of no help to him. They implied that this calamity happened to him because he was hiding sin and iniquity from God and God was paying him back.
6. At the time, Job had no clue as to what was going on in heaven between God and Satan.
7. In the end (Job 42,) Job passed the test and God rewarded him with more than twice what he had and he lived happily ever after.

In conclusion:
If you are a “born again” child of God…
God allows trials and troubles in your life to: Test you, teach you things that you would not learn otherwise, and to strengthen your faith in God. (Oftentimes, we do more to harm ourselves than the devil does.) Satan is limited by what God will allow him to do to you. God can remove his protection and permit Satan to hurt you as a test from God. If you pass, God will reward you with his blessings.

In the meantime, search your heart and see whether or not it is due to sin in your life. If it is, confess it and get your relationship right with God. (David had to do that in Psalm 51.)

When bad happens… Don’t get bitter and angry with God nor charge Him foolishly. Ask God to help you learn from this and help you to be a better Christian. Remember that God is always good and right.

Gods first use of “pronouns” in the KJV 1611 bible: Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created HE HIM; male and female created HE THEM.”

This was long before the LBGTQ+ was using them. :)

My church: Trinity Baptist Church of Arlington, TX has begun their “week of soul winning” today. We are going out every day this week to reach people for Christ.
The theme verse that reflects the church’s mission is in Acts 1:8 — “ But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: And ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem (your area,) and in all Judea (your state/province,) and in Samaria (your country,) and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Genesis 2:19-20 -- "And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adem gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found and help meet for him;"
My Comments:
Plants grow from the ground. Animals and man eat the plants. Animals and man are nourished and create waste from the use of them. The waste products go back to dirt and fertilize the ground from which plants grow. When animals and man die, they decompose and go back to dirt. The cycle repeats itself.
Adam must of had a perfect mind in order to remember all the names that he gave the different animals and birds.
Yet, in all this, Adam was lonely and needed a companion.

MY SUNDAY LESSON -- MARRIAGE
Genesis 1:27 -- "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Genesis 2:18 - "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."
Genesis 2:24 -- "Therefore, shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."
Genesis 1:28 -- "And God blessed them, and God said unto them: Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth..."
Deuteronomy 17:17 -- "Neither shall he multiply wives to himself,..."
SOME OBSERVATIONS:
1. (Genesis 1:27) -- Man's marital relationship mirrors the image of God: God The Father (The man), God The Holy spirit (The wife), and God The Son (Kids).
2. (Genesis 2:18) -- It is God's will for man and woman to marry so man would have an "help meet" and a companion for life (so he won't be lonely.)
3. (Genesis 2:24) -- Man and wife are joined as one flesh (Just like The Father, The Holy Spirit, and The Son are joined together as one family in heaven with God the Father being the head of the family.)
4. (Genesis 1:28) -- The other purpose for man and wife to marry is to have children (and lots of them.)
5. (Deuteronomy 17:17) -- God's plan is: One man and one wife for life. Polygamy mars the image of God in man.
6. In light of what I said in points 1-5 (above)... This is why divorce is NEVER in God's plan. You are to stay married no matter what. (The Lord Jesus Christ made this point in Mark 10.)
7. Also, there are only two genders: Male and Female.

I'll get into the issue of divorce next time.

Genesis 2:15-17 "And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
My comments:
1. God reminds us that man's basic purpose was to take care of the Garden.
2. God gave man only one command: Don't eat of the Tree of the Knowledge Of Good And Evil. If you eat it, you will surely die.
[More on that when I get to Genesis 3.]
Genesis 2:18 - "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."
My comments:
1. It is God's will for man and woman to marry. Marriage is necessary for companionship and procreation.
2. The woman's role to be a helpmeet for man.

17/03/2023

Genesis 2:10 -- "And a river went out from Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became four heads."
Genesis 2:11,12 -- "The name of the first was Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there was gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone."
Genesis 2:13 -- And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
Genesis 2:14 -- And the name of the third river was Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. ANd the fourth river is Euphrates.
My comments:
1. There was one river that watered Eden and split into four heads after it left the garden.
2. The world before the flood was all one land mass. When you look at a world map, you'll see that all the continents will fit together together as one land mass. -- Israel would be in the center of that land mass. Noah's Ark was likely built there. The flood altered the land to where only one of those rivers exists: The Euphrates River.
3. Many Bible scholars think that Garden of Eden was somewhere in the area of modern day central Iraq. Abraham was in that area at the time God called him to leave and head to the promised land. (I'll get more into this story when I get to Genesis 12.)

The creation of the Garden of Eden.
Genesis 2:8-9 "And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil."
My comments:
1. God made the Garden of Eden for man to live in.
2. God placed two main trees there for man to choose from: The Tree Of Life, and the tree of The knowledge of good and evil. It was God's intent for man to choose the tree of life.

14/03/2023

Genesis 2:7 "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
My comments.
Life originated from God. When a man and wife procreate, that original life from God passes through the creation of children from one generation to the next.

13/03/2023

Genesis 2:4-6 "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lod God made the earth and heavens, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist form the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground."
A few observations...
1. This is a basic recap of creation, as it relates to plant life on earth.
2. God had to prepare the earth before man can inhabit it
3. Man was the last creature to be created on plant earth..
4. It is interesting to note that God needed a man to till the ground.
5. The mist from the earth was similar to what we call light rain (drizzle.)
6. There was no such thing as extreme weather. (Pre-flood.)
