English classes will get their pictures taken on Sept. 4th. Sophomore and Junior English classes will get their pictures taken on Sept. 5th. Senior English classes will get their pictures taken on Sept. 6th. You must get your picture taken to be in the yearbook.

Yearbook Picture Day has been scheduled. Students will take pictures in their English classes. Freshman and EL English Classes will get their pictures taken on Sept. 4th. Sophomore and Junior English Classes will get their pictures taken on Sept. 5th. Senior English Classes will get their pictures taken on Sept. 6th.

Senior yearbook portraits must be done by Photographic Arts either at school on Sept. 6th or through appointment at their studio. Photos from other companies will not be used in the yearbook.

Rock Island Rocks Football is celebrating its 125th anniversary this season. In honor of those 125 years, the team brought back their traditional gold pants. From 1939 to 2013, every team has worn gold pants. This year, the Rocks are returning in gold.

🌟ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT!

Mikhayla Hughes-Shaw (class of '15) - Mikhayla Hughes-Shaw is currently a lifestyle reporter/host for Cincy Lifestyle on WCPO 9 in Cincinnati, OH. Mikhayla is not only a storyteller but also an advocate. She served as Miss Iowa 2018 for the Miss America Scholarship Program. During her year of service, she completed over 150 community and school appearances and talked to over 10,000 students about the importance of mental health awareness and su***de prevention. In 2019, she established her nonprofit organization How About HOPE (Helping Others & Providing Encouragement) which works to change stigmas surrounding mental illness, specifically focusing on minority mental health. She is passionate about making a difference.
