In the first annual Texas Shred-Off guitarists will battle head-to-head in a series of tournament style challenges to determine who will reign supreme as the greatest shredder across Texas. Guitarists born or based in Texas are invited to submit a short video of their shred by October 2 for a chance to compete to win the $1666 grand prize. Finalists will be chosen by a brutal panel of 5 judges inc

luding Kyle Shutt (The Sword), Laurie Gallardo (KUTX), Rusty Cooley (Day of Reckoning), Chuck Loesch (NO CONTROL Radio), and Mike Wiebe (Riverboat Gamblers). The shredpocalypse of the 2017 Texas Shred-Off will begin when the bell tolls 9.30pm on Saturday October 21 at Mohawk in Austin, Texas. Second place takes a cursed $666. Join us for a night of electric mayhem, sure to crucify. Hosted by Thor Harris & Erica Nix. Backing band Shred Bed provided by members of The Sword. Also featuring on the inside stage: Big Balls TX (AC/DC) and Think Lizzy (Thin Lizzy).

Proceeds of the Texas Shred-Off benefit The Museum of Human Achievement (MoHA) and Fusebox, two arts non-profits of Austin, TX.
