These are a few of my favorite photos I've taken this year as an independent photographer/filmmaker. As you can probably tell, the darker and creepier the photo the more I enjoy it!

I'm definitely a videographer first and a photographer second, but I so still enjoy telling a story in my photography. It may not always be flowers or lush fields, but there's beauty in darkness.

The secret to keeping my daily life organized 🔒

Keeping notebooks for various reasons is something I've done forever. It keeps my ideas organized and on paper. My brain goes 100mph all the time, so having a place to dump those creative thoughts is crucial to my sanity and my workflow.

This has been my new EDC setup for the last few weeks, and it's the greatest I've ever had. A cheap leather cover from Amazon, three notebooks to separate my creative ideas from my utility tasks, and my favorite, cheap gel pen. Nothing too fancy, yet customized enough to fit my everyday needs. And the best part? I can swap them out anytime I need! 📓

It has been an immense help in keeping my thoughts organized beyond my notebooks I keep at home. It has also allowed me to procrastinate less and get things done that I otherwise would have struggled to do. ✅️

Don't underestimate the power of a notebook (or notebooks) for uses such as this!

"How would you describe your photography style?"

I have always enjoyed the darker sides of creativity: metal music, cinematic music and film, contrasty, punchy, atmospheric, creepy, and otherworldly. It all tickles my brain 🧠

I am definitely a videographer first, photographer second, but I still enjoy capturing images that bring you into another dimension or world. I like to be transported through art, so I try to implement that in my own work.

Captured this guy outside the house last night! That web was built VERY quickly! I believe it's some type of Orb Weaver, but I'm not quite sure. All I know is i had to try to capture it while it was perched up in the center of its web! Very cool stuff 🕷

This may just be a still from an upcoming video, but I was really happy with how the composition turned out! I did nothing in Lightroom or Photoshop. The video was filmed in Cine2 and color-graded in Davinci. I literally exported a frame! 🤣 Oh, and this was using the Sony Kit Lens on my A6400, surprisingly.

- A6400 + 16-50mm
- Smoke Ninja Proglobal - COB Light
- Color-Grade
