Keep your eyes out this weekend and let Hardt Family Cyclery know if you see anything.

Bicycles get stolen all the time. This theft is different. The stolen electric bicycle is a $20,000 bike specially designed for Visit Aurora. It was stolen from Hardt Family Cyclery in NW Aurora, and store owner MacKenzie Hardt just wants it back.

More places for us to hang out together.

This fall, the City of Aurora will begin a major overhaul of the Westerly Creek waterfront at Stanley Marketplace. The creek will be moved west toward Beeler St. and new landscaping will encourage pedestrians to “enjoy the ambience of the creek.”

President Biden, thank you for your leadership and your legacy. This letter will take its place in the primary documents of American history as an example of what it means to love your country more than yourself.

Remembering the lives that were lost and the lives that were changed forever.

Today marks the 12th anniversary of the Aurora theater shooting, a day when we lost 12 precious lives: Jonathan Blunk, Alexander J. “A.J.” Boik, Jesse Childress, Gordon Cowden, Jessica Ghawi, John Thomas Larimer, Matt McQuinn, Micayla Medek, Veronica Moser-Sullivan, Alex Sullivan, Alexander C. Teves, Rebecca Ann Wingo. Let's take a moment to honor and remember them.

Rest in peace.

When you're sitting in traffic at the Havana & Smith Road crossing do you every look over and wonder what's happening inside the Denver County Jail?
Go inside and see a new area for families to connect.

The walls of the large room are covered with beautiful murals. Nearby smaller rooms are decorated with images of whimsical Disney characters. This is a welcoming space for families. It’s also a space that’s under the shadow of barred windows inside the Denver County Jail.

For the next month the Denver Police Department will conduct targeted enforcement of expired vehicle registration and expired temporary license plate violations.
You've seen them on the roads and now police are looking for them.
If you're caught, there's a 95-dollar fine on top of the license and registration fees you still need to pay.

A reminder from Denver Animal Protection during this summer heat:

If you see a dog in a hot car, immediately call 311 or Denver Animal Protection, 720-913-2080. You should also familiarize yourself with the city’s Good Samaritan law which provides legal immunity to people who break a car window to save an animal. However, to ensure immunity:
• You must believe the animal is in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury
• The vehicle must be locked
• You must make a ‘reasonable effort’ to find the vehicle’s owner
• You must contact the Denver Police Department, Denver Fire or DAP before entering the vehicle
• You cannot use more force than necessary to free the animal
• If you break a window, you must remain with the animal and on scene until police or DAP officers arrive
