In loving memory of Joe Billek

Joe Billek passed away on March 6, 2012 at the age of 51, after a 2 year courageous fight with Melanoma. Joe was a husband, father, son, uncle, mentor, Captain with Tampa Fire Rescue and a friend to many. We are blessed to have pictures that document our memories with Joe. Our lives are better for knowing Captain Joe Billek. RIP Joe Billek, you are one missed man.

As most of you know, the staff at moon Island is more like a family. We are very close and take great pride in our attempt to make Tampa Bay a music Mecca...one song at a time! I take great pride in the addition of Nicole as our digital marketing manager. Our digital media web-based footprint has increased over 400% in the last month since she came on board. Fantastic job Nicole... You're just what we needed. Love you and I am so proud to have you as part of our family.

Moon Island Music/GVAP are excited to announce that today Rory Ellis came into the studio and recorded the Vocal and guitar tracks for his new EP. Rory has served our country with honor and distinction in the Middle East.

This is especially important to us as his new song "Old Friend" is part of our public outreach program to bring awareness and support to those dealing with the difficulties of PTS (Post Traumatic Stress).

We are currently attempting to work with the US Army and the Department of Defense through an Army liaison to help with producing the Video. We are preparing to meet with a pair of graduate students doing their dissertation for their doctorate degrees at USF specializing in PTS.
This is a Nationwide campaign and we are humbled by those young men and women who put themselves in harms way to protect our lives and liberty, only to come home and fight what sometimes is an even bigger battle within... This is very important to Gary and I as we know soldiers who have been affected. Follow & Share

Please send him congratulatory messages on becoming the new production manager. Here's Aiden's new station with all the high-speed duplication, CD printing machines, computer and graphic arts programs. We presented him with the traditional roll of paper towels and Windex. Rule number one keep your equipment area clean...

Road trip... Aidan, Kevin, and I headed to G's-Spot in Parrish Florida. Great day in the studio today. A lot of reassignment of some very sophisticated equipment. Got to hear one of Paul Messina's new songs off the new album. Absolutely phenomenal... You've outdone yourself Paul. I can't wait to hear the rest of it... Hats off my friend

Special thanks today to Cheryl Robbins, student, artist, and friend. She has no power or water at her own home, yet she found it in her heart to come to moon Island today to help with the re-instillation of the more delicate equipment. God bless you and we love you more than we can ever express. My friends please say a prayer for her and her family in their time of trouble. So excited about tomorrow's project at moon Island...
Let me introduce you to Scott Northrop. He is a phenomenal drummer with an incredible hybrid drum kit. I love it!
We're filming a music video production. He has flown in a great Videologist from the West coast. Danial is really cool and has excellent cameras, lighting, computers production equipment and then some... looking forward to working with him...
I won't mention any names for someone needs to be here at 8:30 in the morning for the studio prep.
