💙 After an amazing 45 years of service and helping ensure we are there when the public need us – Pauline Martin is bidding a fond farewell to .

Things have changed significantly since Pauline began her career with us in June 1979, where she was stationed at Byker Police Station.

✍️ During her time she has played a vital role in answering calls from the public, initially often taking hand-written crime reports to the nearby radio room so they could direct officers on the ground.

In 1984, Pauline moved into one of our busy contact centres and has supported thousands of people ever since by helping ensure resources are sent to incidents.

While technology has moved on, it’s safe to say that Pauline has continued to provide an outstanding service to our communities.

📞 Pauline’s journey in policing saw the Force move from more traditional methods of contact such as landline telephones and typewriters – to the very first mobile phones being used at crime scenes.

To mark the end of her time with us, Pauline was presented with a special certificate from Assistant Chief Constable Deb Alderson.

👏 We have no doubt that Pauline has helped thousands of people in her impressive career spanning more than four decades – and we’d like to say a huge thank you for her years of dedication and service!
