A nationwide and well funded organization called the Sportsman Alliance is going on the offensive to stop the progress that humans have made in not indiscriminately murdering wildlife. Their mission as they see it is to protect the murdering of wildlife under the guise of wildlife management i.e "conservation." They primarily work behind the scenes in the courts and in the realm of public opinion. They see all rules limiting the murdering of wolves, mountain lions, lynx, bears as an abuse of federal power. Their little big term goal is the maintenance of enough to kill. They view all rules as an attack thus the primary purpose is to defend.

The Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization and protects and defends America’s wildlife conservation programs and the pursuits – hunting, fishing and trapping – that generate the money to pay for them. Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation is responsible for public education, legal defense and research. Its mission is accomplished through several distinct programs coordinated to provide the most complete defense capability possible."

Unfortunately, humans in Colorado were unable to defeat the trophy hunting mindset. There still exists in humans an odd mindset to find satisfaction in killing an animal for sport.

The proposition would have imposed penalties for hunters who continue to kill big cats, including barring them from holding state hunting licenses for five years.
