AMAVA -
Amava hails fro
m the high desert of Sisters, Oregon and is a prodigy of the world renowned Sisters Folk Festival and Americana Project. But don't let that fool you... she might have cut her teeth in one of the best high school country/folk songwriting and artist development programs in the country but she has turned that into something that is 100% modern pop through and through. A Belmont University student, Amava wasted no time developing her craft and her career and was granted a slot in the Belmont West program which she will be attending in Fall 2017 where she will be furthering her creative base and preparing and developing material for her upcoming first artist release. Raised by hippie parents on Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Bob Marley, they sparked his love for great songwriting and pop music. In 2009, after working with Grammy nominated producer David Ivory (Atlantic Records) and gaining a grassroots following in Philadelphia, he decided to move to Nashville with $700 in his pocket. After just four years, Dakota got his first cut and single, "It's Goin' Down Tonight" with The Lost Trailers. The song charted Top 30 on Sirius/XM's The Highway and was the Official NFL Sunday Night Football Radio Theme Song Nationwide for the 2013 season. The upcoming 2014 Canadian release will feature Brad Mates of Emerson Drive. Additionally, Dakota songs have been recorded by Alyssa Shouse, Arabella Jones, Ernie Halter, Drew Gregory and, he has garnered placements with Virgin Airlines, USAirways, and The Discovery Channel. WILLIAM KING-
William King grew up in the country... Virgie, Kentucky to be exact. An area rich with musical history, its no surprise William was introduced to music at a very early age. "While every other kid was watching the cartoon network , I had my eyes glued on CMT" William proudly says, and his love for music has never wavered. In 2009, after his 2nd year of college was in the books, William made the decision every songwriter at one time has contemplated, he moved to Nashville. In 2012, after numerous writers rounds together, he and co-writer Dakota Jay formed the duo Dakota and Will. In the coming months, Dakota and Will would land the opening act slot on Tyler Hilton's Spring 2012 Tour and would eventually go on to tour with Ron Pope and Josiah Leming("American Idol"). The duo also had opening slots for Teddy Geiger, Shooter Jennings, Ryan Cabrera, Will Hoge, Tyler Ward and performed at the CMA Music Fest in 2013. William as a songwriter has had his songs recorded by The Lost Trailers, Emerson Drive, Ernie Halter, Alyssa Shouse, Drew Gregory and Arabella Jones. GREG FRIIA-
Greg Friia, a Maryland native, grew up convinced he was living on the wrong coast. What he thought was Los Angeles calling, turned out to be somewhere in the middle... Nashville, TN! Greg's passion and rich talent for songwriting led him there in 2001 and he hasn't looked back. "It was a night at the Bluebird Café' with D. Vincent Williams that put everything in perspective. I knew I had to be here", says Greg, and he has taken advantage of every moment since. Greg has an impressive list of accomplished collaborators including Robbie Nevil, Peter Amato, Greg Bieck, Oliver Leiber, Kris Bergsnes, Bill Champlin, George Noriega & Felix Cavaliere in addition to his core of up and coming contemporaries. Greg has had songs recorded by Brady Seals, LoCash Cowboys, Kristen McNamara, Courtney Dickinson, Dave Bradley & Brad Lee Schroeder to name a few. Greg performs regularly across the country as part of the “Four Empty Chairs” show, with fellow songwriters Pete Sallis, Jessica Rae, and Glen Mitchell. Greg is proud to be a regular “Guest Pro-Writer” at NSAI (Nashville Songwriter’s Association International) regional workshops. Visit us at:
