A message to all of our dear supporters: Thank you all for being loyal listeners of Angelica Community Radio (WRAQ 92.7 fm and WRAQ.org) We hope you enjoy our variety of programming as well as our live coverage of events here in Angelica and Allegany County.
As you are aware, we are a non-profit 501 C3 organization. There are absolutely no paid staff here. However we do have ongoing expenses that we must cover in order to continue our fine quality programming. Utility bills (heat, electric), internet service to provide nationwide streaming, performers rights fees (ascap, bmi, sesac. etc)
At this time we are conducting our end of the year fund drive in order to be able to pay those bills. Would you please consider donating any amount you are able to? Be assured that the money will be used to continue the fine programming you have grown to love. PS....your donation is completely tax deductible!!!!!
Please send your check or money order to:

Have you ever wanted to be a DJ? Wear those snazzy headphones and talk in a smooth, late-night voice while playing your FAVORITE records? Have we got a deal for you!

Angelica Community Radio has donated a Guest DJ spot (and a sassy WRAQ tee shirt) to this auction. Don Ash will be there to lend a hand, work the board, laugh at your jokes even!

The last person to guest DJ liked it so well she now has a weekly show on Wednesdays called "Kick Back with KB" (KB is Kathleen Benzaquin).

Anyway, just thought we'd suggest it -- maybe it could be a cool gift to give someone you just KNOW would love it ❤

Click through and give a look-see. We're super-excited to think we might discover a new DJ this way!

Spend a few hours in-studio hosting your own live radio show in Angelica! Wear this cool Tee shirt as a memento. Last year's winner enjoyed it so much, she now has her own weekly one-hour show!

09/10/2023

This is International Slipping Rib Syndrome Awareness Day.

Slipping Rib Syndrome is when the cartilage that connects ribs 8-9-10 to the sternum gets damaged or detached.
It often causes debilitating pain because the ribs move (slip) sometimes under/over each other irritating the intercostal nerves.

It also causes a long list of other conditions from difficulty breathing to gastric issues that are often mistaken for other conditions, and therefore the root cause of SRS doesn't get treated. Because it is cartilage, it doesn't appear on imaging, so patients are often dismissed and gaslit by doctors who never learned anything about the condition since it isn't taught in medical school. Our mission is to raise awareness in the medical community so that patients can get to the doctors who are familiar with the condition and get the treatment they desperately need. Please copy and paste this post on your personal social media sites today so that we can tell the world that this is real and there is help! Our website at www.slippingribsyndrome.org has a wealth of information including a brochure you can take to your doctors to guide them to more technical information.

You may have heard that the Wellsville Redemption Center is closing. Many of our supporters have taken their clean cans and bottles there, and designated WRAQ.org as the recipient of the proceeds. This generosity helps fund our station's expenses and we're so grateful.

Starting June 3rd, we'll once again have a regular presence at the Angelica Farmers' Market and will happily accept your donation of clean, washed returnable cans and bottles at our table.

We appreciate our listeners and our community members, and thank you for any support you provide. See you in the Park!

David French is a conservative lawyer and commentator. Today he discusses the broader background behind what’s going on with the several indictments on the horizon for Donald Trump. The decision announced last week, regarding the hush money, is perhaps the least important case. David French, interviewed by Ezra Klein, talks about the distinctions between what the law can do and what moral courage should do. Listen to this conversation today at 5 pm on WRAQ, 92.7 FM.
