🦋”Who are YOU Becoming?” 🌟From Michelle Obama: “Find & value the the story in you. You don’t have to be Michelle Obama to find the beauty in your journey. In all of its flaws & bumps & bruises, the highs & lows, we all have these stories. “Be brave enough to put our stories out there. We have to tell more stories & give our kids more images of what it means to be human, because right now the images that they see are male & white & wealthy. If we hold our stories in, & don’t share them, then, it’s easy to think that everybody else’s is ‘other’. I’m ‘other’. We have no reason to be afraid of each other.” “We have start sharing those stories, and not our stats. Who cares where you work or went to school, those are stats. Get beyond that and digging deep into people’s stories. Start sharing your stories and being open to hearing others.” “We have to do the work. We have to practice everyday who we want to be. We can’t just show up when it’s hard, we have to practice kindness & empathy. We have to be actively engaged, we have to know what’s going on in our world. We have to practice that everyday.” “There is no ‘one’ answer, WE are the answer. WE ARE THE ANSWER. There is no one that is going to lead us out of this, there is no one that is going to fix this for us. We have to fix it for ourselves, that means we have to be better to each other. We have to be more empathetic, we have to be more compassionate, we have to understand that everyone lives in a context.” “We can’t turn everybody, all of our neighbors into our enemy, and don’t let people whisper in your ear about your neighbor. Because they will do like they did me, they will turn that little girl into a monster, if it means that it will help them win. So, you don’t want people turning your neighbors into monsters to use so that somebody else can win.” “You gotta get there first, you gotta know your neighbor, you gotta open your heart to the people that you work with and you gotta VOTE!”
