More than four miles of a new, separated bike path opened along San Fernando Road last week, completing a nearly 10-mile stretch connecting Sylmar to Burbank.

The Monday ribbon cutting was a milestone in a larger effort to link a disjointed network of regional bike paths together, according to Los Angeles officials. Once complete, Burbank riders will be able to get from Burbank to Hollywood, Downtown Los Angeles, and other parts of the valley on two wheels.
