In March, a home explosion in Adger left one man dead and another seriously injured. A lawsuit filed on behalf of the Griffice family alleges a dangerous buildup of methane gas due to local mining operations is behind the fire and explosion. On Saturday, Eli & Buttercup Abel participated in the 2024 4-H Pig Squeal. Both of them received awards and Eli brought home overall supreme showmanship. Their mom Brandy tells me they worked great as a team preparing for the Pig Squeal, from cleaning the pen to collecting sponsorships together!

UPDATE: Mccalla Fire and Rescue tells us they responded to a fire alarm call around 1:30 p.m. Crews were able to extinguish the fire, but it continues to reignite which is why crews remain on the scene. The fire is contained and there are no reported injuries.
