Someone connected with me on LinkedIn and, as is common, I immediately got a message from them pitching me their website tracking services ๐Ÿ™„

I declined. I told them I'd reach out if anything changes but they were determined. They asked why I wasn't interested and thought it would be of great value to know who was landing on my site.

My response?

"That sounds like great information to have but I don't have a website at the moment." ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I had a great conversation with a friend about how recruiters need to stop being basic with their candidate generation and follow up. We talked about how many recruiters underutilize automation tools like applicant tracking systems, chatbots, and email marketing software, which can save them from drowning in resumes and make them look like the ultimate hiring boss.

I mean, who needs to spend hours screening resumes and scheduling interviews when automation can do it for you? And let's be real, who wouldn't want their candidates to feel like they're the most important person in the room with some automated follow-up emails and surveys?

As someone passionate about making a positive impact, I understand the importance of effective marketing for nonprofit organizations. Marketing for nonprofits has a different objective than traditional businesses - to raise awareness and funds for a cause, not necessarily drive profits. With limited budgets, nonprofits must be strategic in their marketing efforts. Cost-effective methods like social media, email marketing, and content marketing can help nonprofits reach their target audience and achieve their goals. Below, I go over the three marketing realities every nonprofit should consider.

Regardless of which method they chose, the goal should be for the nonprofit to tell about themselves and their impact. Have the content show people why and how to get involved. The purpose is to create people who want to advocate for the organization.

Clarity can solve almost any performance issue. If an employee isn't living up to their performance expectations first make sure they understand what those are. Then get clear on if they have the tools and support needed to do their job.

How to prevent your employees from โ€˜quiet quittingโ€™:

- Ask them are they clear on what is they're supposed to be doing

- Clarify their duties

Let them know what they are uniquely accountable to.

If someone is not doing their job the very first question you have to ask as a leader is, "how much of this failure do I own?"

Evaluate if you were clear on the front end. Or if you failed to equip someone with the support and resources they need.

Building my brand has been harder than I expected ๐Ÿ˜ซ

Since I was 17, I've worked with others and have come to realize that my identity has been closely tied with them. Now that it's time to step into my own, I'm struggling with where to start.

The frustrating part about this is I've helped others build their brands so I thought it shouldn't be difficult to build my own. Now that I'm faced with the task of doing it, I realize that I first need to become aware of the identity I've created for myself. Then I can begin to shape a new one through shared thoughts, experiences, and skills.

One thing is certain, though... however I brand myself, I want to be known as genuine, transparent, and relatable.

I want to cultivate authentic connections and promote collaboration.

My relationship with Keap began in late 2013. I spent six weeks before my first interview sitting with different employees, listening to support calls, and learning the software.

I didn't get an offer on my first attempt, but my persistence paid off. About a month later, I got an offer, and in January 2014, I started in customer support. This position was my first time in a tech support role, and I found I was pretty good at it. Within six months, I took in the extra responsibility of being one of the on-call reps for off-hour & emergency issues. And through this, I got to begin working with the Keap partner community.

Over the four years I worked for Keap, the partners became my favorite part of the job. As I moved into my role as an Advanced Support Manager, their issues became more challenging, but the reward of working so closely with them was worth it. I left Keap in 2017 with the dream that I would one day become one myself.

Now, in October 2022, I've done it. I am a Keap Certified Partner!
