“The Passion for the Stress of Strain” by Dashiell Grey.

This poem is about administering what is right for the circumstance instead of acting on preconceived notions and routine; what is right may even be to surpass feelings to act on what is right.

Pan is a folk character of Greek mythology. He is the Greek god of shepherds and the wilderness, and thus he acts on, though it is implied, his inclinations in the wilderness. He also carries a pan flute and is often depicted dancing. When he no longer has his flute, it stops him from dancing, but he starts up again, without his typical source of inspiration—this may be a stretch on my part. It is through this sudden change that he finds an alternative route to joy.

That would be spontaneity and the omittance of external reasoning—doing what one wanted to do without having the “essential” incentives.
