If you listen to some of the stupid guests on CNBC today, you would think that we are either in or quickly approaching a recession. Top economists quoted today in Forbes and Goldman Sachs Research not only state that we're not in a recession but that if we do enter one it would be in 2023 and be fairly mild "as inflation fades and unemployment nudges up slightly."

Economists have been calling for a recession for some time now. Are we finally in one? How is a recession determined? Here are the updated signs and datapoints that inform the call.
