Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Temese Chavis and I am the founder of Becute Multi Media and Productions.
As a Black woman, I know that our stories are often told through someone else’s lens. So when it came time to create content, I wanted to make sure to tell stories that embodied the spirit of Blackness.
I was tired of seeing one-dimensional representations of us in the media, and wanted to fill that void by creating something unique and meaningful.
My first project? A comedy-drama series called “Confessions Of A Serial Dater.” The show follows an expressive cast of friends living in Harlem as they navigate their complicated relationships while exploring the sexual politics of modern-day dating.
With this story, I wanted to explore how Black men and women approach romance differently; from singlehood woes to navigating family dynamics — these characters feel like real life!
Join us on our journey as we continue to create original content that challenges the narratives around Black culture and strengthens our families through love.
