On Saturday February 24th Parade and Expo was attended by thousands of people from as far away as Los Angeles and San Diego.
The Concerned Citizens for the Development of North Fontana held their 56th Annual Black History Month Parade and Expo. This was one of the best BHM celebrations in California. Fontana is a great city led by Mayor Acquanetta Warren, who encourages Unity in the Community. Ellen Turner, Deborah Hall-Lindsey, Vernell Townsend and their team organized this event. 56 years ago to the date the first San Bernardino County Black History Month Parade and Expo was held in North Fontana.

Attendees were anxious to take advantage of photo ops with Grand Marshall NFL Green Bay Packers Kenny Clark, Celebrity Grand Marshal Captain Mark Woods founder and lead singer of the group Lakeside, and his beautiful wife one soul trains first dancers, Honorary Grand Marshal Xavier Palmer president of Tuskegee airmen organization, Summit High Majorettes dance coach Hometown Grand Marshal Dr Sabina Glover, and the winner of "Spirit Award" Amari Whitehead Summit High School sophomore.

There was lots of food and fun for everyone of all ages, Jay Family Entertainment kept everyone moving.

If you missed the Parade and Expo this year, we look forward to seeing you next year the parade is always the last Saturday in February on Citrus in Summit avenue, so mark your calendar now and plan to join us.
