Jacksons been trying out some hobbies! He asked me what mine was when I was his age, and I told him horseback riding. SO tonight, he gave it a shot and loved it. Sounds like next time we’re gonna have to both get back on the horse 🤗
End of summer celebration! Can you all believe my kid starts kindergarten this week?! So many of you have been on this parenting journey with me and watched my guy grow up. Eternally thankful for your love and support and WE MADE IT!!!!
Back home and not traveling for a long long time!!!!! Ok, until the end of August, but at least I get to take Jackson with me on that one!! 🤪 In the past 6 weeks, I’ve been on 4 trips. I feel so fortunate to have a support system in place to allow for all the planes, trains and automobiles!
So easy to celebrate my future sister in law!!! We’ve been through some travel nightmare the past 24 hours but we’re here, we’re relaxed, and every crab, shrimp and oyster better WATCH OUT. 🌴👰🏼♀️
Also so tickled to be back on the Gulf Coast 🥰
Olivia Rodrigo blew the top off Rupp Arena tonight. The number of screaming women in that group therapy session healed something deep in my soul. Heartbroken lover girls, UNITE!!!!!! 💜🩶🌙
More life, more city, more travel, more nice to meet you, more fries please 😇
The summer travel continues! We were part of the cyber outage yesterday and ended up spending 8 additional hours in the airport, but how do you know if you really like someone unless you can do travel woes together well 😂 enjoying our long weekend in NYC!
Dinner with the girlies last night, then my buddy started kindie camp this morning 💕 loving these summer months with every bit of my heart!
I was supposed to be in Mexico this weekend celebrating my good friend’s impending nuptials but hurricane beryl had other plans. Luckily we’re the kinda friends who are good in any setting as long as we’re together ♥️ I hope everyone had a happy fourth and I hope everyone has a great weekend!
My best friend 🥹
What a week 💕 We had a blast exploring the thumb coast and Motown. We escaped the crushing heat of Kentucky for some frigid Great Lakes beach days. Highly recommend
✌️ Out of office ✌️
Over the years I’m guilty as charged for smack talking Kentucky Kingdom. The place has some lore, no denying it. But the past few years when we’ve gone for the Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana Walk for Wishes I have been so impressed with how clean, safe and fun it is for our entire family. We didn’t wait longer than 10 minutes for a single thing. If you’ve tried it before but it was a while back, I encourage you to give it another shot!
Showered baby D today 🥰 our girl Shay McAlister is so loved!! It was so great to host- I’m thinking of this as a “halfway to Christmas lemme make sure I can still navigate this kitchen” practice 😂
Big day for my big KINDERGARTNER!!! Officially a Pre K grad, minimal tears shed. 🥹
Hmmm sure would be nice if we had one of those 🤷♀️🥹🏀
All smiles at Valhalla with my dad today 😁
My besties 🫡♥️
150 was historic 💕 a perfectly beautiful day filled with family, friends, and franks 🌭 hat by Scooter Ray Minyard as always!
Wow yall really drink at these races huh??? 😂 I’ve taken it easy always bc of work, I just came back to life two days later ready to do it all again! Happy 150!!! As always, Scooter Ray Minyard absolutely CRUSHED this fascinator.
Me: “ok babe I’m thinking asparagus, tortellini, maybe some spinach in there for dinner.”
Jackson: “or mom…. What if we just… went to the taco truck?”
Guess who won? I’ll give you a clue. 😂 flexin on his mama.
Life is about range, my friends. I know some people believe in a rare celebration, but I’ve been trying to keep things as close to 50/50 as I can here recently 😂 Keeneland for lunch and a cocktail made mowing the grass before dinner feel like way less of a chore. It’s the season!!!
Tomorrow is my favorite ✈️ Have the best day, Louisville!!
Time is a thief ♥️
Breaking news!!! My babies are having a baby!!! Imagine you’re in the vestibule of a skyline chili and finally notice your good pal Jimi’s shirt. Screaming and crying ensue. All of a sudden, the post chili beers aren’t sounding quite as good 😂 Cannot wait to for all the auntie activity!!! Shay McAlister you all are going to be the best parents ever💕
One year feels like yesterday... but a lifetime ago at the same time. I think about this day and these people often. This city is forever changed in all kinds of ways from this day. Listening to the stories of the people impacted by this senseless violence is the only way to create change going forward.
Dana Mitchell was shot in the back during the Old National Bank shooting in 2023 and played dead while waiting for help to arrive.
Not up to much, just kickin it 🫨
My homies got married and I can’t stop thinking about how perfect it was ❤️🔥 ILY Shay McAlister
Also Dani Ford Photography kicked ass, truly ♥️

There comes a time in every young persons life where they must learn the family traditions of previous generations. Jacksons lesson tonight… ding dong ditch. Where better to learn than Shay McAlister’s house?! Shout out to her soon to be husband for being a great sport 😂 I’d 9/10 times rather partake in this goofball behavior just to have him outside and having fun!
Good news is we’re in for another beautiful day! Bad news is…. They’ll gonna have to pry me out of this place. I don’t wanna leave ♥️
My voice shook, but I said it. Goodbye, GMK! The past 4.5 years have been a dream. I wasn't sure I'd get another chance in news after the way things shook out in Mobile, especially after I *quite literally* interviewed with a 5 week old at home, and needed time during the interview to pump. WHAS and Julie Wolfe took me in with open arms and taught me about being a boss a** working mom. I've been so lucky to work along side journalists who have continued on to careers all over the country, some still in news and some not, but all of whom taught me lessons about humanity and myself. To the long haulers, who preceded me here and will be here when I'm gone, thank you so much for modeling the core principals of journalism. Your commitment to my hometown makes the decision to leave sting a little less, because I know we're all in good hands. To those who only crossed paths with me for a little, I hope some of my passion and commitment to doing better every day rubbed off. I hope when you think of having a slow and easy day or phoning it in, you hear my voice telling you mid isn't enough and push harder. To those who will come after me, believe the crazy Hayley stories... or don't. Depends on the story. But know I'm always watching and listening and I will interject if any fact is awry. I love you all and I'm excited to continue to post to this page. We've become our own community and I've genuinely appreciated your support. So what's next? The private sector, baby!!! I've accepted an in-house role at a Fortune 300 here in Louisville. It'll continue to test my editing and project management skills and I'm really looking forward to all the position will bring to my life, especially the ability to be there in the morning for school drop-off. Before I start, I'm going to Disney World!!! And before I leave, I'm doing one last show at noon. I hope you'll join me. Thank you, Kentuckiana.
Pickin up the pieces where they fell on the floor ❤️ Tall Tall Trees was an absolute treat last night. Excited to see you all tomorrow morning!
I'll take every win I can get my hands on! In my 31 years, this is a first for me. Everyone please send your condolences to Eric King and guard your ears during this one 🤣 WHAS11 News Kentucky Derby Festival

If you missed it, here are the last few minutes of our show this morning!! What an honor to share the desk with all these GMK legends. We constantly hear from viewers who love the show, but don't love the hours. Luckily, you can download the WHAS11+ app on your smart TV and watch us on YOUR schedule! Good morning Kentuckiana, no matter when you wake up!
Me: A man sent me a gross message on instagram =( Eric King: *snatches my phone* lemme respond. Don't mess with this team.
Jackson is wild. He’s funny, he’s a loose cannon. I never know what he’s going to say. He doesn’t know a single stranger. He’s done his best to meet every person in northwest Florida. He’s so caring and he’s so generous and he’s the most cuddly kid ever. All this to say, there’s only one thing he’s not. He’s not scared. And he reminds me every single day.
Never EVER pass on an opportunity to see Kings of Leon! When my future MIL asked if we wanted tickets a friend was passing along, I pounced! Through so many of my life’s moments, KOL has been the soundtrack. A beautiful night and amazing time at Bourbon And Beyond 💃
As another rain system moves into Southeastern Kentucky, Eric King and I sat down to discuss my time living and working in Hazard. We touch on the geography contributing to heavy flooding issues, how poverty in the region can/will be a hinderence from here, and how you can help people as they begin to clean up.

It’s baby bunny season 🐰 a few reminders… check your yard before letting your dogs out, mowing, or letting young kids out. Be aware of locations you’ve seen them hanging out. Don’t touch them. Keep them away from pets. Don’t worry if you see them hanging out alone, they’ll find their way back! https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/news-events/the-buzz/avoid-baby-rabbits-when-mowing-lawn-spring/
