Don't believe all the negativity about the GM 6.2L V8. One Silverado owner with 43,000 miles is offering hope and a different perspective. Get the full story on why this engine might be more reliable than you think. Find out how to protect your truck. https://www.torquenews.com/1084/chevy-silverado-owner-says-i-see-all-negative-about-gm-62l-v8-well-ive-had-no-problems-my-2022
"Since I see all of the negative posts on the 6.2L, I just wanted to offer some encouragement - I have one of the first 2022s that came off the line. The engine and truck have 43,000 miles, and it just passed my recall test with the dealer, with no issues. I had a minor exhaust leak, but that's about it."

"I was nervous with all of the posts I see about burned up motors or failing the picometer testing, so I figured my passing the test would offer some encouragement to those who haven't tested yet. This photo is from last winter for the Facebook tax."

"P.S. If you're gonna be a hater on the engine, don't waste your time. We see enough of the complaining, I won't respond to it, don't have time," he concludes.

A 2024 Honda CR-V shopper's plan changes in a big way. One owner's journey from gas to Hybrid reveals a powerful trend reshaping the auto industry. Find out why more and more buyers are making the switch, and what it means for your next car purchase.

In a surprise twist, a Honda CR-V shopper's plan goes out the window. He walked in for gas and drove out with a Hybrid.

It's a comment I see more and more on one of the many enthusiast group pages I follow. Danny Roy on the Honda CR-V 2023-25 6th Gen Facebook Owners group page perfectly summed up the seismic shift happening in the automotive world.

He wrote, "I went into the Honda dealer looking for a 2024 Honda CR-V gas model, and I left with a 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport."

“I had a flat tire on 2021 MY Long Range with 20,500 miles. I got it towed to the tire shop. I was hoping they would repair the flat, but they said the tread was low on the tires (It was 4/32”) and all tires would need to be replaced. I had expected the tires to last to about 30,000 miles.”

A Cybertruck owner reports that State Farm insurance is doubling his rate out of the blue. He adds that initially, he was quoted $400/month; however, the insurance agent who gave him this rate was let go, and now State Farm is asking for $800/month.

Jake Skipper, a Cybertruck owner from Texas, says that State Farm is doubling his insurance rate.

Jake mentions that at first, he was quoted $400 a month; however, later on, a different insurance agent reached out and raised the price to $800 a month.

Additionally, the new insurance agent said that the previous employee who quoted him $400 a month was fired for underquoting him.

12V batteries in pricey battery-electric vehicles are failing, and causing quite a stir among EV owners. We provide some examples of the issues owners face and explain why EVs never have alternator failures. https://www.torquenews.com/1083/12-volt-battery-failures-are-driving-electric-vehicle-owners-crazy-i-asked-my-dealer-change
Last night was an adventure. My 12V died (again) in my EV. This time in the garage at Logan. Only MassPort will tow out of the garage, and then transfer to your tow of choice outside. As an EV, you have to flatbed it, so it’s dollies to get it out of the garage. This is where our story literally goes sideways. The tow damaged the car, leaving me with more repairs to deal with. Three batteries so far, I’m looking at a buyback. 3K total miles on this EV.

“I bought my 2025 Limited 3 weeks ago. I had a ‘21 Eco (bought in May) that was a POS. I could not drive it for 3 days without a trip to the shop and it being down for weeks. The selling dealer (Landers in Norman) made it right and gave me everything I paid and put me in the ‘25 Limited. I have had everything and really like the I6 and the active driving. The dealer even gave me a new electric Retrax because of the Ram Box. The verdict is out on the Ram Box. I have a disability and also have a bed slider. I just turned 2k on it driving through Texas Highways with no issues. I am taking off the Bridgestones and putting on Michelin LTX tires. The stereo sounds good and there’s no rumble out of the tailpipe. The only options I have are the Level A and trailer brake. Thank you for allowing me into your group.” https://www.torquenews.com/18003/i-couldnt-drive-my-2021-ram-1500-ecodiesel-more-3-days-without-issues-dealer-made-it-right

What surprised me most about the 2025 Hyundai Elantra N wasn’t its speed or handling but how unexpectedly easy it was to live with as a daily driver. https://www.torquenews.com/1/seven-days-later-i-realized-how-2025-hyundai-elantra-n-doubles-sensible-daily
Daily life with the Elantra N is a mixed bag, but one I think most enthusiasts can live with. Yes, the suspension is firmer than average, and no, you won’t get adaptive cruise control - Hyundai strangely reserves that for non-N trims. But the back seat is usable, the trunk has real space, and the warranty is unbeatable at 10 years/100,000 miles on the powertrain.

This Tesla owner says he did basic energy checking and found that driving his Tesla Model Y to the ball game has less environmental impact than taking the subway. https://www.torquenews.com/18004/driving-my-tesla-model-y-ball-game-has-less-environment-impact-taking-subway

The cost to drive is hidden in a lot of variables. Parking often exceeds what a transit rider would pay in fares. An EV consumes electricity at a rate of a few cents per mile, although insurance, depreciation, and maintenance raise true ownership cost toward forty to seventy cents per mile. Transit replaces those variables with a predictable fare. Hidden social costs change the math again. Analysts often place car externalities near five to seven dollars for a ten-mile trip, while similar transit trips add roughly fifty cents to one dollar fifty for the city.

I couldn't charge my Kia EV6 at any iONNA station until I discovered the hidden setting that was blocking the 257kW fast charging connection. https://www.torquenews.com/17998/i-couldnt-charge-my-2025-kia-ev6-any-ionna-station-until-i-discovered-hidden-setting-was

“My new 25’ EV6 needed some juice yesterday, so I stopped at the recently opened iONNA charging station in Minnesota that’s only a few miles off my normal commute.

I back into the stall, follow the prompts on the charger, and plug in. After a few moments, it says I need to unplug and try again. I do this multiple times and try every other NACS charger, but they all can’t establish a connection. At this point, I’m getting worried since I don’t have much battery left and didn’t want to risk going somewhere else.

I figured it had to be something wrong with the car, so I dove into the settings and turned off the ‘Plug and Charge’ feature. Sure enough, that was it, and I was able to accept juice.

It was interesting to see the gradual step down from the max input of 257kW.

Again, this is all new to me, so for any other newbies having issues, here’s your solution.”
