Did you know?
Bottled water is bad for the environment: According to National Geographic, the U.S. public goes through about 50 billion water bottles a year, with most of these plastic containers not being recycled. Transporting and chilling these bottles also burns fossil fuels, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions.
1500 plastic bottles are consumed every second! Enough plastic is thrown away each year to circle the earth four times, and it takes 1000 years for the plastic to degrade.
Bottled water is not proven to be any safer than tap water: The Environmental Working Group (EWG) states that the government does not mandate bottled water to be any safer than tap water, with chemical pollution standards being nearly identical. In fact, bottled waters have historically been recalled for contamination with particulate matter, mold, and bacteria.
