It is true, I never compliment Mayor Woodfin publicly.
Some say it's because he never put me on the payroll, That's not true. I never compliment Mayor Woodfin deliberately because I believe he has allowed diversity to cost black people too much of their taxes.
This photo motivated me to acknowledge Birmingham's mayor for some things he has done good for the city. Diversity is not the mayor's high point. Diversity has been too expensive for black people under his leadership and the leadership of black mayors before him.
The tuxedos worn by Mayor Woodfin and Lionel Richie, remind us, (aware black people) of the symbolism, attire, represented for African Americans who often protested with simple clean cut garments and dignified character. Their silent protests were demonstrated with love for one another within the race. However, the most distinguished among us, never stooped to the level of our oppressors.
Although, I do believe Mayor Woodfin is more considerate than his predecessors. Birmingham's Mayor Woodfin would not want his friends to feel bad because of their inability to afford a tux. Therefore, I do believe the Mayor often dresses down in order to feel comfortable. Also, he may want those unable to afford lavish attire to feel comfortable as well. This is a good trait the mayor has.
Another phenomenal contribution Mayor Woodfin has made to the city, is, the citizen respect given by city workers. Prior to Mayor Woodfin's reign, black administrators ( could name a few, such as Royal and Roberson )treated black citizens, visiting city hall, the same as white racists treated African Americans, under white racists administrators. I vowed to Birmingham citizens in the 2017 mayor's race, to demand respect for black people in Birmingham, just like the respect that's given to white people in Mt. Brook by black people. Mayor Woodfin did correct some flaws in city hall.
In capitalist America, Birmingham Mayor looks good in his Tux. America is not socialist yet.
Mayor Woodfin is right. We treated our visitors the way our mothers, grandmothers, fathers and grand fathers taught us. We stood in corners and gave our city to our guests on our tax dime.We gave them the guest room. Now we only want to know the return on our investment. Nick Sellers, although he is a replacement,
, what did he deliver to Birmingham taxpayers? Birmingham tax payers know much money they allowed Nick Sellers to make. Community Presidents asked for Nick Sellers to replace the World Game director before him because they felt too many tax payers, especially, the black ones, were being left behind.
Tax payers owe Dr. Henry Panion some of Nick Sellers salary. Although, Dr. Panion isn't my favorite person. I must admit, he is one of the greatest talents in the world. No orchestra conductor in the world would direct for two hours non-stop as Dr. Panion did at the opening of The World Games here in the city.
Sloss didn;t llose on it's investment neither should the daily $250 small business investors.
If we gained our fair share of profits during the world games, I will rate Mayor Woodfin "Bt".
In the 1960's Dr. King, Rev. Shuttlesworth, and others paid the price for Mayor Woodfin and his administration to prepare our city for the world stage again. The world should be reminded of the blood sweat and tears shedded to make Birmingham what it is. Diversity is too expensive if this fact is spoken of quietly.

Thank you Dr. Eric Mackey and Dr. Mark Sullivan. When superintendents are visible in our schools, curricula will become competitive with Finland, as well as, other education systems leading the world in education. Visibility of superintendents can improve tasty dietary menus for our students. The moment visitors ( including state and local board of education members), enter public schools, outdoor and indoor expenditures for sanitation of school hallways and student bathrooms, as well as, landscape upkeep of school grounds , are realized. If board members and superintendents never visit our public schools, how will they know where tax payers dollars are used adequately.

Update: Funeral Services will be held tomorrow May 25th at 11am at Forest Hills Cemetery by the airport.

Update: due to circumstances, we are having to
postpone the service. We will repost when plans are made. Celebration of Life for Arturo Labra Fortunelle Will be held tomorrow May 24 at 2 pm. He will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Donations are still being collected for services and memorial tiny home community, however we could not delay services any longer. Thank you to Bushelon Funeral home for working with us on prices and to the 2 families that donated a burial plot and a casket.
