This is the Church in Santa Cruz, a popular tourist spot located near the beach village of Santa Cruz, right beside La Crucecita—the local town and community. Santa Cruz offers plenty to explore, including a marina for fishing and tour boats, a dock for cruise ships, beachside restaurants with umbrella and palm roof setups, numerous condos, the Immigration office, and a park with a coffee kiosk and occasional high-end organic market. The church here is renowned for weddings, adding to the area's charm. These two neighbouring towns, Santa Cruz (Holy Cross) and La Crucecita (Little Cross), were officially renamed about 3-4 years ago to Santa Cruz Huatulco on maps and government records.

There are three key areas: Bahías de Huatulco (the Bays of Huatulco, with 9 bays and 36 beaches), Santa María Huatulco (the official legal seat of the region, home to a fantastic organic market at the city hall kiosk, which we'll be showcasing soon!), and Santa Cruz Huatulco (the newly designated name for the two small towns where we live).

This is the town square of Pluma Hidalgo, a coffee-producing region where every square is called a Zócalo. While a true Zócalo is massive, with the president often standing on the terrace of their mansion, this charming little square is called the Zócalo of Pluma Hidalgo. Surrounding it are coffee-themed restaurants, and behind the gazebo, you'll see a beautiful church. All the coffee here is organic, freshly roasted and ground.

Please note that it is not safe to drive now due to many landslide and during rainy weather.

Hi guys and gals. Just want to thank you that you are a subscriber, watching our videos, and learning about daily life in mexico and the Coast and Resort Towns. We won't be posting for a few days. We are waiting for Hurricane John. And he is supposed to land between 5 and 6 tomorrow morning, but he hasn't decided exactly where and hasn't decided if he's a 1 or a 3. So you keep us in your prayers, but mainly pray for the villagers. Lots of rain coming our way, mudslides, trees falling, flooding, rivers of great currents, so you pray for our area. Bye for now.

Santa María Huatulco, September 22, 2024.- The directors of the different educational levels, as well as parents, are informed that:
Due to the effects caused by Tropical Depression Ten-E and because there are Ocean-Atmospheric conditions for the formation of a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours off the coasts of Oaxaca and Guerrero, it is possible that the wind, waves and rain will increase.
For this reason and by instructions of the Huatulco Municipal Civil Protection Committee, EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2024
ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
We will continue to provide more information over the next few hours. We urge the entire population to be alert and follow the recommendations issued by Civil Protection and Huatulco Firefighters.
