Hey everybody this, is Anna. I wanted to take the time to explain why there has been a gap in content.

A few months ago, our entire system experienced a catastrophic security breach. We lost access to everything, only some stuff was accessible.

As we are a small business, we cannot afford to pay for assistance, nor replace our systems. All we can do, is slowly try to fix things as best we can.

I did want to personally thank each and every one of you for your support. Even those on our pages, thank you. Its been a very difficult time, but I was not about to give up.

I can’t promise much, but we will try to be back up and running by summer or so. We want to separate the post again and add more features too.

Thank you again.

Anna

Re: Tanker and ULD Hose Taskforces Demobilized

Remarks: At about 0600 hours this morning and after consultations between the City of Watertown Water and Fire Departments, it was determined that the water distribution system condition had improved enough to allow Fire Department access to the citys fire hydrants. With this development, the City and Town of Watertown Fire Departments and Jefferson County Emergency Management determined the need for the Tanker Taskforce and Ultra Large Diameter Hose Taskforce had abated. As such, the two taskforces were demobilized at 0700 hours.

Both the city and town fire departments have resumed normal operations. Residents can be assured that water flows to fires in their communities are approaching normal levels. Should the distribution system encounter additional trouble in the near future, the additional staffing and equipment resources can be mobilized in short order.

The City and Town of Watertown Fire Departments would like to thank the dedicated support from the following neighboring fire departments, businesses and emergency service agencies:

City of Watertown Dept. of Public Works Jefferson County Fire & Emergency Management
NYS Office of Fire Prevention & Control (OFPC) DHSES - NYS Office of Emergency Services

The City of Watertown fire department is at a call for water leaking in a basement. They are requesting the water department to this call. We do not know if it is related to the water main break and the pressurization of the water lines or not. We also do not know if there have been other issues overnight either. Please keep an eye on your pipes and the street for water; that is more than normal rain.

Who in the City of Watertown, or the general area, received the emergency broadcast for the water emergency yesterday 10-19-23? Not the Rave alert that the city has, which you must sign up for from the city, but the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA).

Did anyone receive a direct phone call from the city of Watertown or the County of Jefferson?

We want to know because some didn’t receive one type of alert but did the other. People living in the city didn’t get the WEA alert but got phone calls. People outside the city received the WEA alert, but not the phone calls.
