It has been a great honor and a privilege to serve The Town of New Milford. Tomorrow night's Town Council meeting will be our final scheduled broadcast.
The Boy Scouts have a creed when camping of "leave no trace". As an Eagle Scout, I've taken on the challenge throughout life of doing better than that: "leave it better than you found it."
The four links below are to a 4-part series outlining just SOME of the improvements we've introduced to The Town's live video broadcasts. We truly appreciate the thanks we have gotten over the years, and hope we have not only served our community well, but BETTER as we went.

In short, here is the list of improvements we've outlined in these posts, which include the introduction of:
* Use of Youtube's improved compression codec for crisper video and color.
* Side-by-side camera angles for more ergonomic viewing.
* 1080p HD streaming (an improvement on the previous 720p video quality).
* "Lower thirds"; these are the titles at the bottom of your screen that allow you to know what meeting is taking place and what topic is being discussed at that moment.
* Streaming directly to The Town's Youtube channel (was streamed to the broadcasting company's Youtube channel under the previous broadcasting contractor).
* "Picture-in-Picture" to allow viewers to see BOTH the presenter AND their presentation.
* Dedicated camera angles devoted to overhead presentations for easier viewing at home.
* Dual/simultaneous live broadcast of meetings to The Town's page to reach a larger community audience.
* Individualized microphones for every speaker (and room microphones as well) so you can more clearly hear everyone.
* Multiple camera angles (4 in total) so you can see every speaker, and everything taking place. Prior to Taylor Media taking over these broadcasts, there was only 1 camera, and only 1 camera angle.
* Qualifying for a custom web extension so the community can more easily find The Town's Youtube channel.
* Ordered, consistent, and simple thumbnails for each video to more easily find the video you're looking for.
* Organized playlists to make it easier for those looking to re-watch previous livestreams and video uploads to find the video or video series they are looking for.
In light of tomorrow night's FINAL scheduled broadcast with the Town of New Milford, we figured we'd share some of the improvements we've introduced over the years in a 4-part series. Here we demonstrate the introduction of:
