This is Ellen, she is a 49 year old split leaf philodendron that my Mom received as one leaf in a styrofoam cup in 1974.
I recently inherited her after my parents passed away and we are going to repot her, as she has obviously outgrown her current accommodations.
Any tips? I’ve never been in charge of such a large and fantastic plant and want to do right by her, she’s been in my family longer than I have.

I always bought Fuchsia’s for my hanging baskets every year and threw them away in autumn. One year I noticed that the label said that they were perennials so I planted a few in the garden. This is what they look like now and they are cut back after they’ve flowered. I’d have needed a very large hanging basket to plant these in! I’m in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

My dad passed away three days ago. I'm convinced my dad isn't completely gone. Weird things keep happening since he passed. His smell, things around the house move around,my son starts saying hi grandpa to the air, the angelfish laid eggs, and now these two flowers have bloomed. This basket has not produced a single flower since I planted it. The caterpillars have eaten every flower since spring and now all of the sudden there's two full white flowers.

My first time gardening since my husband passed away in 2021. We used to plant a 5000 sq ft garden. I cannot manage that alone. I cannot till. I cannot w**d. So I am trying container gardening in front of my house. I do not have far to walk to water this way. Easier to get to, and the times of shade from the walnut tree in the play yard seem to be helping better than sun all day in a big garden. I have tomato plants, peppers, strawberries, sweet potatoes, and zucchini seeds sown in the long frame I found around here. God is blessing my little garden.
I bought the tomato and strawberry plants. My friend gave me the pepper plants. I started the sweet potato slips in my house this last winter. I discovered that bags of topsoil are cheaper and nicer quality than potting soil. I plan on trying eggplant seeds in the empty mineral container. We put holes in the bottoms of all the containers. I have a tiny greenhouse I have not used since spring of 2021. I may try growing plants from seeds next year.

We have worked so hard- had a beautiful garden!
(Had key word)
We went camping, gone 5 days.
Came back to all our loaded pepper plants with every leaf eaten. All the cabbage eaten. Two 20 feet rows of pole beans, Our loaded forest of tomato plants trampled down and absolutely every dang green tomato gone!
We do have a fence up- but that dear deer has learned to jump in and out. Tracks all over… it’s moved on to eating our zucchini and winter squash plants. This fat B***h better hide well come hunting season. First time ever to have such a devastating experience.

We bought a new build bungalow 18months ago as we are in our late seventies and didn’t want stairs. I’ve always loved gardening but thought I should cut down as I have osteoarthritis . Famous last words, I couldn’t sit still if I tried. We ended up with a bigger plot than we thought so split the garden in two . My husband cuts the lawns NOT with a sit on lawnmower . He had a knee replacement two months ago and now cutting the lawn again. I just pray that I can keep going a few more years. My garden is still ongoing , it’s what keeps me going For those who are just starting in gardening , you learn along the way , don’t give up. It’s a wonderful hobby.

This is my garden after 18 months since i moved in. I’ve worked my ass off .I’ve built everything myself.only help I got was installing the polycarbonate roof.some before and after.please be nice I’m in my 60s 😄😄 next year I’ll treat myself to a new corner suite.it wasn’t easy as my garden is on a slope.dublin Ireland

I posted some photos of my garden a couple of days ago - and have had a lovely response! So many nice comments - thank you - so glad you like it! One lady said she would like to see a photo of the whole garden - but I can't find the comment now! I don't have a photo of the whole thing - it isn't a big garden but it is wide - so difficult to get it all in! Anyway here are a few showing a bit more of the layout (we dug out the lawn and put in winding gravel paths before planting up). The colours change with the time of year ☺️.As you look from the house the slightly raised seating area is in the far right corner and the wisteria seating area is in the far left corner. (That's my son in the first pic btw 😂)

I had to have my garden completely remodelled after my husband fell watering the plants and triple fractured his pelvis. I brought everything up to one level so he wouldn’t fall over anything and replaced all the tubs and hanging baskets with artificial flowers so we would never have to water tubs again. We are both disabled now and it saves us hours of work, just cover them up in winter and unveil them again in spring.

My client is 90+ and has a bad heart so no longer able to manage his garden.
In november and then early march I planted all this up for him.
Our hard work paid off and it looks stunning East Sussex

I've been gawking over everyone's ceramic tree finds. I've always wanted one but figured my chances were slim being in a rural area. Today I spotted her in a box on the bottom shelf at my local thrift store for $2.75! The base is cracked and bulb was burnt out. New bulb works! I'm just gonna sit here in the dark and cry. I can't believe I really have one!!v

This story is ridiculous... Several months ago, I went to an estate sale that had many dolls. One of the dolls looked a lot like obscure actor Palmer Scott, who has acted with Tim and Eric. I bought it and put it up on eBay thinking I would sell it to a super fan.
Just recently the real Palmer Scott bought it on eBay! It's actually him since it was shipping to Utah where he lives. We messaged and he wrote "A fan saw this and forwarded the listing to me and I have to have it. I'm going to have a denim suit made for him and use him in videos. Thanks for listing him."
Palmer makes TikTok videos these days, so I'm going to have to watch his videos. How crazy! This was an epic moment in selling!

Some people inherit jewelry - others, ginormous sofas! In 1958, my grandparents moved into a beautiful, new mid-century modern home. To make the best use of the cavernous great room, my grandfather designed this gorgeous sofa with matching tables and three stools. If you look under the table on the right, you can just see one of the stools. When the time came to pass it along, I was the only one with a just-barely-large enough living room!
